Today’s first stop on your Beijing one-day tour will be the Capital Museum (closed each Monday). It was built on the site of Beijing Confucius Temple. Through the over 5,000 exhibition relics, you and your kids will learn about the city’s history and development, Chinese folk culture, Chinese traditional ceramic artworks, etc. That would be a great visual and spiritual feast.
The next stop will be Yonghe Palace. Also known as Lama Temple, it was built in 1694 (Qing dynasty) and Emperor Yongzheng lived there when he was a prince, and it was changed to a lamasery in 1744. It became the national center of the Lama administration at that time. Nowadays, it is one of the largest and well-preserved temples with profound significance of Buddhism in China.

After lunch, continue to visit lovely pandas in the Panda House of Beijing Zoo. Your kids can see adult pandas, young pandas, and panda families. At last, pay a visit to Jingshan Park which stands on the opposite street of the Forbidden City. In ancient times, the park and its ancillary buildings not only served as a royal garden for visitors, but also had multiple functions such as learning shooting, offering sacrifices to ancestors, official learning, opera and regional activities, etc. At its top, you can capture a panoramic view of the Forbidden City.
When the tour ends, you will be escorted back to the hotel.
Kind Notice: The Capital Museum is usually closed on Mondays. You can either skip the museum to end the tour earlier, or you can visit another site instead of the museum.
