Welcome to our 10-day China landscape tour. In addition to Beijing and Shanghai, well-known international cities, you can visit two of China’s most popular natural scenery destinations, Zhangjiajie and Huangshan. Zhangjiajie is the prototype of the movie Avatar, and Mount Huangshan is one of the most beautiful mountains in China.
From urban views to natural landscapes, all are included in this itinerary. In Beijing, there is the exploration of the Forbidden City and the hiking tour of Mutianyu Great Wall. Afterwards, fly directly to Zhangjiajie and take photos of the floating ‘Hallelujah Mountain’. Then go for a walk on the Bund and admire modern skyline with Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Finally, take the cable car to climb Yellow Mountain, enjoy the strange pines and rocks, spend the night on the top of the mountain, and get up early to watch the charming sunrise.

- Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
Hello! Welcome to our 10-day China nature tour with beautiful landscapes! You will start your China tour in the country's capital - Beijing. After arriving at Beijing Capital International Airport, a local driver will pick you up at the exit of the Arrival Hall and then transfer you to the hotel in city center. He will assist you in moving your heavy luggage and help you with check-in if you need. The rest of the day is free for you to explore.

- Day 2: Beijing Great Wall TourHike the Great Wall at Mutianyu, Explore History, and Capture Photos
In the morning, your guide will take you to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Temple of Heaven. It is a special altar used by the Ming and Qing emperors to offer sacrifices to the heavens, ask for rain and pray for a good year. It consists of two parts: the Inner Altar and the Outer Altar. We will mainly visit the Inner Altar today, including The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest and the Echo Wall.
Temple of Heaven After that, drive for 1.5 hours to the world-famous Great Wall of Mutianyu. Listed as a "World Cultural Heritage" by UNESCO in 1987, this section is not only the longest Great Wall in China, but also the most beautiful scenery in the Great Wall. Mutianyu has dense enemy towers, which are not found in other Great Wall sections. You will take a cable car ride up the Great Wall, and the tour guide will tell you the rich historical stories of the Great Wall. Take some amazing pictures on the best shooting locations.
After the Great Wall hiking, you will descend via cable car and return to Beijing. In the evening, you can choose to enjoy the famous palace dish - the famous Peking Roast Duck at Quanjude Restaurant (additional charge).

Hike the Mutianyu Great Wall - Day 3: Beijing to Zhangjiajie TourExplore China's Imperial History at the Forbidden City
After breakfast, you will be guided through city highlights of today's Beijing tour. Go to visit the Tian'anmen Square, which is located in the center of Beijing. The square covers an area of 440,000 square meters and can accommodate 1 million people for a grand gathering at the same time. You will see the National Flag Pole, the Monument to the People's Heroes, Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall and the Zhengyangmen Gate along the central axis from north to south.
Forbidden City Continue walking a short distance north to the Forbidden City. Aka the "Palace Museum", it used to be the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) and is the essence of ancient Chinese palace architecture. There are various routes to visit the Forbidden City. Your tour guide will select the best visiting route for you, and you will learn some basic facts, including when it was built, why it was built, and how many rooms it has.
Next, hike up to Jingshan Park to enjoy the panoramic views of the Forbidden City and Beijing's skyline.
Enjoy a delicious lunch after the tour. Then your driver will transfer you to the airport to take your flight to Zhangjiajie.

- Day 4: Zhangjiajie Avater Mountain TourExplore China Stunning Landscapes Featuring the Famous Hallelujah Mountains
Today, you will be taken to explore the beautiful landscapes of Wulingyuan Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After breakfast, your China nature tour in Zhangjiajie first leads you to Yuanjiajie, which is served as the inspiration for the "Hallelujah Mountains" in the movie "Avatar."
In the scenic area, we'll start by experiencing the Bailong Elevator, which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “highest outdoor elevator”. The elevator runs at a height of 326 meters and takes about 66 seconds to reach the top. Then, you will see the floating Hallelujah Mountains.
Bailong Elevator Afterwards, take a sightseeing bus up to Tianzi Mountain, which is known as "an enlarged bonsai, a shrunken wonderland". Its high terrain provides visitors with a wide viewpoint from the south, east and west. You can admire the wonders of this landscape - strange rocky peaks surrounded by clouds, such as pillars, towers, as well as a more than 20-kilometer-long, 1,000-meter-high huge rock wall. At the end of the tour, you will descend by cable car.

Tianzi Mountain - Day 5: Zhangjiajie to Shanghai TourDiscover Breathtaking Natural Sights of Tianmen Mountain
Today is all about Tianmen Mountain, which is famous for Tianmen Cave (meaning a gate to the heaven in Chinese). Take the 7,455-meter-long cable car up to the top of Tianmen Mountain for 28 minutes while appreciating the amazing scenery and taking photos of the coiling road of 99 turns on the way.
Next, explore the mountain with your tour guide, walk on the thrilling Glass Skywalk & Ghost Valley Plank Road hanging on the cliff, and visit Tianmen Mountain Temple. The temple was built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and became the center of Buddhism activities in western Hunan.
Then, go down to the Tianmen Cave. It is literally a natural water-eroded cave with the highest elevation in the world. Try conquering the 999 steps to Tianmen Cave and enjoy the wonderful scenery from above.
Note: In winter, in case of heavy snow or severe cold weather, Tianmen Cave and Ghost Valley Plank Road may be closed. Your travel consultant will adjust your itinerary accordingly.
At the end of the Zhangjiajie tour, your guide and driver will transfer you to catch your flight to Shanghai.

Tianmen Cave - Day 6: Shanghai Day TourExperience Shanghai's Rich Culture and Modern Charm
Your guided Shanghai tour in China takes you to visit the Jade Buddha Temple, a Song Dynasty-style building named after the Jade Buddha enshrined in the temple. It is a quiet and peaceful environment, which is regarded by locals as "a piece of pure land in the midst of the downtown area". You can see two precious jade statues brought from Myanmar.
Next, admire the exterior of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, one of landmarks on the city's skyline.
Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower After lunch, explore the classical Yu Garden and the bustling Yuyuan Bazaar. You will be immersed in the modernization of Shanghai. Yu Garden is a Chinese classical garden, whose history can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Your guide will take you on a tour of carefully arranged gardens, bridges, and ponds. Next, discover the Shanghai's rich heritage of Shanghai Old Street.
Continue to Nanjing Road. Take a stroll on the first commercial pedestrian street in China, and savor the openness and prosperity of this city. The last stop is the must see attraction in Shanghai - the Bund, where you will admire 52 buildings with different styles such as Gothic, Romanesque, Baroque, etc.

Shanghai Yuyuan Garden - Day 7: Shanghai to Huangshan TourExplore Chengkan Village for Rich History, Culture, and Huizhou Architecture
In the morning, once finishing your breakfast, your private driver will transfer you to the railway station to board a high-speed train to Huangshan City. Upon arrival, the local guide will meet you and lead you to have lunch.
In the afternoon, the Huangshan tour in China takes you to Chengkan Ancient Village. It is the oldest and most well-preserved Eight Diagrams village in the world. As early as the Song Dynasty, it was praised by the famous philosopher Zhu Xi as the "first village in Jiangnan". It is also known as the "heaven on earth" and the "countryside of ink painting". Strolling through narrow alleys, your guide will take you to appreciate traditional ancestral halls and Huizhou style ancient architectural complexes. You can also learn about the intangible cultural heritage of the village - wood carving.
After that, drive back to Huangshan to Tunxi Old Street, the most intact pedestrian street in China with architectural styles of the Song, Ming and Qing dynasties. Enjoy your free time. You can buy souvenirs and taste local cuisine.

Chengkan Village - Day 8: Mount Huangshan Exploration TourHike and Stay Overnight on Mount Huangshan for Rocks and Pines
Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel. The tour guide will wait for you in the hotel lobby and then head to the Yellow Mountain. It has been a famous mountain in China since ancient times, and strange pines, grotesque rocks, sea of clouds and hot springs are known as the "four wonders". In addition, rime, snow scenery, and sunrise are also very popular among tourists.
After arriving at the scenic spot, take the cable car up to the mountain. Start your hike from Begin-to-Believe Peak, and you can admire the bizarre pine trees and rocks along the way. Continue to Dispelling Cloud Pavilion, Flying-over Rock, and Bright Summit. You will catch the breathtaking landscapes and glimpse the stories behind these stops.
Guest-Greeting Pine on Yellow Mountain In the later afternoon, walk to the Xihai (West Sea) Grand Canyon, also known as the Dream Scenic Area, located at the foot of Danxia Peak. It is an ideal place for tourists to look up to Mount Huangshan, with pine forests, strange rocks, deep valley and curling clouds. Afterwards, hike back to your hotel. We will spend the night on the mountain.

Get up early and shoot the beautiful sunrise of Mount Huangshan. Afterwards, return to the hotel for a hearty breakfast. Take a short break to relax and then we descend the mountain by cable car. Enjoy your lunch and head to the railway station for a high-speed train back to Shanghai.

Sunrise over the Mount Huangshan - Day 10: Departure from Shanghai
After breakfast, it is time to say good bye to our 10-day China landscape tour. Later, your driver will escort you to take a flight to your next destination or home. If you want to extend your Shanghai tour to other cities like Hangzhou or Suzhou, we would be happy to arrange it for you.
