Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Hong Kong Street Food TourCultural Exploration and Cantonese Dim Sum
In the morning, around 9 am, your tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in the city center. Start your Hong Kong tour at the Wong Tai Sin Temple Sik Sik Yuen, one of the most famous temples in Hong Kong founded in 1921. According to legend, the Wong Tai Sin enshrined in the temple is "responsive". So every year on the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar, local citizens come here to offer incense and pray for good things.
Wong Tai Sin Temple Sik Sik Yuen Next, head to Nan Lian Garden. It is hidden near Diamond Mountain, like a paradise on earth. Stepping into the garden, tourists feel like they have traveled back in time to the Tang Dynasty (618-907)! If you come to visit in summer, you can see large areas of blooming lotus flowers! Move to Chi Lin Nunnery, built in 1936 and also located in Diamond Mountain. This is a temple complex constructed entirely of wood, imitating the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty.
Then, you will visit the Hong Kong Museum of History, a good place to glimpse Hong Kong's history and culture. The museum has one underground floor, two floors above ground, and an attic. The underground level mainly displays the local natural environment, the development process from prehistoric times to the Qing Dynasty, and rich folk exhibits. The second floor showcases the history of transformation from a small fishing village to a metropolis.
It's time to have Cantonese Dim sum: steamed dumplings, shrimp rolls...
Dim Sum After lunch, head to Tsim Sha Tsui, located at the southern end of the Kowloon Peninsula, facing Central and Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island across Victoria Harbour. You will stroll along the seaside promenade and enjoy the magnificent skyline. Afterwards, explore Shum Shui Po and Temple Street. The street food stalls here are very popular. You can try famous snacks, such as fish balls, egg waffles and stinky tofu.
At the end, you will be escorted back to your hotel.
