On Day 2, take 25-minute Ngong Ping 360 cable car ride to Lantau Island. Then take a guided tour of the Po Lin Monastery and Tian Tan Giant Buddha (34-meter-tall/112 feet). Finally, immerse yourself in the ancient fishing village of Tai O and learn about its evolution story.

  1. Welcome to our 2-day Hong Kong tour to explore the Pearl of the Orient. Meet your tour guide and driver at your hotel lobby and then they will guide you to Victoria Peak. The highest point in Hong Kong, it offers a panorama of the skyline and the harbour. You will be arranged to ride the Peak Tram to the top.

    From there, our Hong Kong tour continues to Repulse Bay, located south of Victoria Peak, adjacent to the mountains and the sea. The bay is crescent shaped, known as the "Number One Bay in the World" and also known as the "Eastern Hawaii". Here, you will also visit the Tin Hau Temple, which enshrines the Goddess of the Sea.

    The next stop in the morning is Stanley Market. You can find handicrafts and artistic works including Chinese calligraphy art, paintings, silk products, and handmade jewelry.

    The afternoon and evening is free for you to explore the city at your own pace. You are strongly recommended to take the Star Ferry, which is a century old cross sea transportation in Victoria Harbour. More than 70,000 passengers travel between Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula on it every day. From the ferry, you can enjoy stunning views of the city skyline and surrounding mountains.

    When you arrive on the other side of the port, you can go sightseeing on Avenue of Stars. As night falls, explore the Tsim Sha Tsui, the busiest and most vibrant area in Hong Kong. Being close to Victoria Harbour, so it is an excellent location to admire the city skyline. Tsim Sha Tsui is also renowned for its cultural diversity and various entertainment venues. You can taste local cuisine or explore many shopping centers.

  2. After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will take you on a tour to the largest island in Hong Kong, Lantau Island. It is nearly twice the size of Hong Kong Island.

    Drive around 1 hour to Tung Chung. Then you will be guided to take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car for 25 minutes to Ngong Ping. This ride is not just a unique way of transportation, but also one of the world's top 10 cable car experiences. On this ride, you will have the best view of Lantau Island, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the Big Buddha, and the ocean below.

    Upon arrival at Ngong Ping Village, pay a visit to Po Lin Monastery. It is a century-old ancient temple known as the Buddhist Kingdom in the Southern Heaven. It has been a popular place for religious practice among locals and visitors for many years. You'll see halls, shrines, gardens, and a scripture library with Chinese architecture and enjoy the Buddhist vegetarian dishes served here.

    Then, go to admire the greatest landmarks of Ngong Ping - Tian Tan Giant Buddha. It is the world's tallest and second largest outdoor seated bronze Buddha, with a height of 34 meters (112 feet). It sits on Muyu Peak of Lantau Mountain. You can hike 268 steps up to the base of the statue and get an amazing view of Lantau Island.

    If you are still up for a walk, take a 20-minute stroll to Wisdom Path. It's a large outdoor group of 38 wooden steles with calligraphy of verses from the Heart Sutra, arranged in the shape of the infinity symbol.

    After lunch, take a bus down to the Tai O Fishing Village, the Venice of the East. It is considered one of the oldest fishing village in Hong Kong. Away from the busy city life, Tai O still retains the life of early Hong Kong. People here make a living by fishing. Explore the village and experience the simplicity of their lifestyle.

    After the visit, you will be transferred back to Tung Chung, and take a drive back to your hotel. This is the end of your 2-day Hong Kong Island tour with Lantau Island.
