Welcome to our 2-day Chengdu tour with Leshan. Your exclusive guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Chengdu downtown, and then drive you to visit the famous Leshan Giant Buddha. The journey takes about 2 hours, and your guide will share with you some precautions for the upcoming itinerary and facts about the attractions.
Leshan Giant Buddha, 71 meters high, is the largest stone statue of Maitreya Buddha in the world. After arriving at the scenic area, you can climb up the stairs under the guidance of your guide to appreciate this magnificent Buddha statue up close.
Leshan Giant Buddha The scenic area also offers another perspective to appreciate the Buddha statue - a boat tour. This allows you to view the Buddha statue from a distance and get a full view of the Buddha statue (at your own expense, optional).
After lunch, drive back to the city center of Chengdu. If you are interested in Sichuan opera, your guide would be happy to arrange a Sichuan Opera Face Changing performance for you (optional). This is one of the traditional Chinese opera genres, popular in some areas of eastern and central Sichuan, as well as Chongqing. Performers will change masks in the blink of an eye, which is a highly skilled stunt.

Today is a highlight of Chengdu panda tour! After breakfast, go to visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. It is well known for the protection and breeding of the endangered giant pandas that are unique to China. This is the cradle of giant pandas, where you can closely observe pandas of different ages eating, playing, and resting. If you're lucky, you can watch female pandas nursing their cubs in the nursery. The guide will lead you through the huge area, share some information about the pandas, and help you take amazing photos.
Baby Pandas in Chengdu Giant Panda Base In the afternoon, enjoy some relaxing time in Renmin Park. You can sample a cup of tea and watch local people playing mahjong or napping. Last attraction on your Chengdu tour is the bustling Jinli Old Street. 550 meters long, the street was once one of the oldest and most commercial streets in the history of Western Shu.
It was famous in China as early as the Qin (221-207 BC), Han (202 BC-220 AD), and Three Kingdoms periods (220-280). Here you can see many ancient relics, including the stage, memorial archway and ancient well. In addition, you can also find various local specialty snacks and interesting souvenir trinkets here.
