The Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base, covering an area of 150 hectares, is located near Wolong Town. It is a famous center for panda conservation and research. This 2-day panda tour provides you with the opportunity to observe and learn about giant pandas, and also arranges for you to participate in a giant panda volunteer project.
Before starting the volunteer activity, you will first visit the Wolong Giant Panda Museum to learn about their conservation knowledge. Then, experience a whole day of panda volunteer project at Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base. Participate in cleaning the houses, carrying bamboo, watching documentaries, making food for pandas. This is a unique experience, especially suitable for families with children.

Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Chengdu to Wolong TownLearn about the Living Environment and Characteristics of Pandas
Please arrive in Chengdu before noon. Your tour guide will pick you up from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and drive around 2.5 hours to Wolong Town. (If you are arriving at Tianfu Airport, an additional fee will be required)
In Wolong Town, you will be guided to visit Wolong Giant Panda Museum. Through six display areas, learn about the living environment, characteristics, and historical evolution of giant pandas. You will explore the mysteries of giant pandas from all angles. After the visit, the guide will take you to a hotel near Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base for check-in.

Wolong Giant Panda Museum - Day 2: Panda Volunteer TourClean the Houses, Carry Bamboo, Watch Documentary and Make Food for Pandas
After breakfast, the tour guide will take you to the Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base to participate in a whole day of panda volunteer projects.
Wolong Panda Base After arriving at the base, change into work clothes and gloves. A staff member will explain the precautions and important safety instructions to you. Afterwards, under his/her guidance, enter the panda breeding area.
- Collect panda feces and clean panda nests.
- Transport fresh bamboo to giant pandas. Observe their feeding up close.
- Explore the entire park accompanied by a panda keeper.
- Watch a documentary about pandas to deepen your understanding of giant pandas and their natural habitats.
- Make "Wowotou" (Corn Steamed Bread) for pandas.
- Return work clothes and receive a certificate of volunteer activity.
Carrying fresh bamboo to the pandas After the tour, your guide will drive you back to Chengdu.

- The volunteer activity need to be booked one week in advance. Please bring your passport to participate. If you want to experience the Panda Volunteer Program during the summer vacation (July and August), please book one month in advance.
