3 Days Chongqing City Tour with Wulong Karst Geological Park

1. Day 1: Chongqing City Tour
   Capture the Stunning Light Rail and City Park Views

   Welcome to our 3-day Chongqing tour! Upon your arrival at airport / train station (suggested to arrive before 9 am), the local private will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board and transfer you to visit Three Gorges Museum. Located at the heart of Chongqing City, this magnificent museum is a window into the history of the Three Gorges areas and a great place to explore Bayu culture.

   

   Next, head to People's Assembly Hall, opposite the museum. This landmark building of Chongqing is mainly in Ming and Qing Dynasty styles, with a mix of Western architectural styles. In front of the hall is a square with a musical fountain and a grassy area. Locals will exercise here in the morning and take a walk in the afternoon.

   Then, your guide leads you to see the Liziba Station of Chongqing Light Rail. This is quite a popular attraction in Chongqing, where you will witness the light rail disappearing into residential buildings. Liziba Station is not just an internet-famous site, it also symbolizes China's rapid development. Exit 2 is the best place to shoot.

   After that, we go to visit the E'ling Park, Chongqing's first private garden, located at the highest point of the city. The park offers a great location for visitors to overlook the entire city of Chongqing as well as the river view. You can also see many historical buildings in the park and the unique Stone Rope Bridge.

   In the evening, Hongya Cave can not be missed. It is an 11-storey complex of stilted buildings, on a mountain cliff and facing the river. At night, when the lights are on, Hongya Cave becomes the most beautiful scenery in Chongqing.

   

   After the full-day Chongqing city tour, you'll be transferred to your comfortable hotel in downtown area.

2. Day 2: Chongqing to Wulong Tour
   Explore the Typical Karst Landscapes and Optional Impression Wulong

   After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive to Wulong Karst National Geological Park. In the park, you will be guided to board a sightseeing bus to the first highlight - Three Natural Bridges. The scenic area is famous for 3 magnificent stone arch bridges, namely Tianlong (Sky Dragon) Bridge, Qinglong (Celeste Dragon) Bridge and Heilong (Black Dragon) Bridge. They are the largest group of natural bridges in Asia, created by magical nature. You can stroll along the narrow path and immerse yourself in the beauty of the valley.

   

   Continue your sightseeing bus tour to Longshuixia Gorge, formed in the orogeny tens of millions of years ago. The canyon is 5 kilometers long and 200-500 meters deep, with thousand-foot cliffs on both sides. The dense vegetation makes this place a natural oxygen bar. We will have a walk here for 2 hours. You will visit One Line Sky, a major feature of this scenic area. It is a narrow natural crack. Under the sunlight, the sky in the crack is clearly visible, like a line, hence the name 'One Line Sky'.

   

   Then, go to see the Dragon Pool Minoring the Moon. It never dries all year round, and the water level remains the same. On the clear nights, when the moon's shadow falls into the pool, it is breathtakingly beautiful.

   In the evening, you can choose to extend your tour by visiting Impression Wulong, a live performance by over 100 featured actors. You will experience the beauty of natural heritage and the unique customs and traditions of the Bashu region during the 70 minute performance.

3. Day 3: Departure from Chongqing
   Enjoy the Alpine Grassland Scenery and Amazing Stalactites

   After breakfast, you will be guided to visit another highlight of Wulong Karst National Geological Park - Fairy Mountain National Forest Park. With an average elevation of 1,900 meters, it is known as the "Eastern Switzerland" with its unique charm of the alpine grasslands, rare forests and snowy plains, green and beautiful jungle and wild landscape. The average temperature of Fairy Mountain is 15 Celsius degree lower than the main city of Chongqing, which enjoys the reputation of "Summer Palace of Mountain City".

   Travel Tip: Visitors can experience various activities such as kite flying, paragliding and horseback riding (at their own expense).

   

   Next, transfer to visit Furong Cave (one-hour drive), a large limestone cave formed during the Quaternary Pleistocene (about 1.2 million years ago). Known as one of the "Three Great Caves in the World", Furong Cave has a main cave length of 2700 meters, a total bottom area of 37000 square meters, and a maximum passenger capacity of 185,000 people. You can see sedimentary features of nearly 30 types from macro to micro, from carbonates to sulfates, including stone waterfalls and curtains that are 15 meters wide and 21 meters high, and smooth and jade like stalagmites.

   After your tour in Furong Cave, we will escort you back to Chongqing downtown area or to the airport/train station for your departure. If you would like to extend your Chongqing tour, a Yangtze River cruise is highly recommended. If so, then your guide will take you to Chaotianmen Dock. He/she will help you with boarding procedures.
