Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Yinchuan ArrivalWestern Xia Imperial Tombs, Experience Wooden Movable-type Printing
Welcome to Yinchuan, a famous historical and cultural city in China! It was once the capital of the Western Xia Dynasty (1038-1227) in history. (It's suggested to arrive before 2 pm)
After picking you up from Yinchuan Hedong Airport, your driver and guide will transfer you to Western Xia Imperial Tombs in about 3 hours. It is a magnificent testament to the grandeur of the Western Xia dynasty. These elaborate burial sites feature majestic mausoleums, statues, and intricate carvings, providing a glimpse into the imperial history of the region.
Western Xia Imperial Tombs At the end of the tour, you will be guided to experience wooden movable-type printing - checking, typesetting, inking, and printing. After that, escort you to your hotel in Yinchuan (50 mins) for the night. In the evening, you can enjoy local snacks and delicacies near the hotel on your own.

Experience wooden movable-type printing - Day 2: Ningxia Shapotou TourShuidonggou Site Complex, A Local Winery
This morning, we set off to visit Shuidonggou Site Complex. With its unique Yardang landform, Shuidonggou has created more than twenty fantastic landscapes, in addition to the most complete underground soldier city left from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the late Paleolithic sites from 30,000 years ago. You will have a simulated live earthquake experience here.
Shuidonggou Site After lunch, we will go to a local Winery, a vast circular building with the characteristics of ancient Chinese cities and a modern feel, made of nearly 200,000 Helan Mountain stones. Here you will have a 2.5-hour wine-tasting experience, accompanied by a look at the development of several wines.
After the tour, head to Zhongwei for an overnight stay. (about a 3-hour drive)

Wine Tasting - Day 3: Zhongwei - YinchuanShapotou Scenic Area, Route 66
Have breakfast at the hotel and then go to Shapotou Scenic Area, amidst the stunning Tengger Desert, a remarkable destination offering a diverse range of activities for adults and children.
Visitors can enjoy thrilling activities like sand sliding, quad biking, and camel riding. The area also boasts the famous "singing sand dunes" and a unique desert oasis. You can immerse yourself in the beauty of the desert landscape while experiencing exciting adventures and serene natural surroundings. In addition, you have the opportunity to experience sheepskin rafting on the Yellow River (at your own expense).
Experience camel riding with your kid If there's not a lot of traffic, you will be taken on a tour of Route 66, which follows the Yellow River upstream through undulating reddish-brown valleys with a straight stretch as far as the eye can see.
At the end of the day, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight home. (It's suggested to book a flight after 7 pm)
