- Day 1: Xiamen City TourImmerse in the Charming Nature Views and Local Life
Welcome to Xiamen! Upon arrival, the local guide and driver will greet you and transfer you to the hotel for check-in.
In the afternoon, begin your Xiamen highlight tour. First hop on a ferry for a 20-minute cruise to Gulangyu Island, with many historical buildings and natural landscape. Stroll through its charming streets, explore the complex of buildings in diverse architectural styles. Climb up Sunlight Rock to admire a panoramic view of Gulangyu Island with the boundless blue sea and wonderful mountains.
Explore Shuzhuang Garden, the only private garden in the world that contains mountains, sea and lake. Observe exquisite architecture on the bridge and pavilion to experience the garden art. Also can learn about the history and culture of pianos at the Piano Museum.
Nine Bend Bridge in Shuzhuang Garden Later return to Xiamen by the ferry. Take a leisurely stroll along Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. After breakfast, the guide and driver will drive you to Nanjing for your Fujian Tulou tour. Here lies the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Nanjing Tulou, unique earthen buildings crafted by the Hakka people for communal living and defense.
Explore Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster, one of the most famous Tulou clusters in Fujian. The cluster consists of a square earth building at the center of a quincunx, surrounded by four round earth buildings. Explore these wonderful buildings to wonder at the wisdom of the Hakka people.
Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster Visit the Yuchang Building, the oldest and tallest Tulou in the area. The interior of this building is unique with crooked pillars from the second floor up. Besides don’t miss to explore an ancestral hall built in the center of the large courtyard.
After that, head to Taxia Village, an old Hakka village nestled along a flowing stream. Stroll along the paths, you can admire the breathtaking mountains and lush forests while exploring the well-preserved Tulou of different shapes. After breakfast, start today’s cycling tour in Xiamen. The Huandao Road is a seaside promenade that offers magnificent views of the nature and the city along the way. Rent a bicycle and ride along the road, which is the best way to enjoy the coastal beauty of Xiamen.
Start your adventure at Zengcuoan. Along the way, pass by historical landmarks and enjoy stunning views of the ocean. The cycling tour ends at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center, covering a distance of 8.5 kilometers and taking about an hour. You can choose the cycling route according to your preference.
Take a leisurely bike ride on Huandao Road Following the cycling adventure, visit Nanputuo Temple, founded in the Tang Dynasty. Explore Buddhist artifacts and statues such as Shakyamuni Buddha and Manjushri. Wander in the ancient temple to immerse in the peaceful atmosphere and learn about the Buddhist heritage. Also climb the Wulao Peak behind the temple for a panoramic view of the Xiamen cityscape and the blue sea.
