Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Zhangjiajie
   Explore Yellow Dragon Cave's Stalagmites, Underground River, Unique Rock Formations

   Welcome to Zhangjiajie! Please book the flight arriving at Zhangjiajie before 12:00 noon. Upon your arrival, your local guide will greet you at the exit of the arrival hall by holding a welcome board with your name on it.

   Then, transfer you for one hour to the fantastic Yellow Dragon Cave. The cave is praised as an “all-round champion” by domestic and foreign geological authorities because it boasts the most complete and beautiful cave landscape with the largest scale.

   You will appreciate the pointing stalagmites, take a boat to explore the deep underground river (the river is rich with second-class state-protected giant salamanders and translucent glass fish), and see the great stone fall and interesting stone monkeys of various shapes.

   After you have fun in this mesmerizing underground palace, your driver will escort you to your selected hotel for a good rest.

2. Day 2: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Tour
   Visit Yuanjiajie for Avatar's Hallelujah Mountain and Bailong Elevator Experience

   After breakfast, meet your guide at hotel lobby and then start your today’s Zhangjiajie Adventure tour. You will be transferred to the famous Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It is the first national forest park in China, and was listed on the World Nature Heritage Site List in 1992 due to its splendid mountains of quartz sandstone.

   We will start the visit at Tianzi Mountain. We take a sightseeing bus to the mountain top and then you can see rugged rocks and a forest of stone peaks. One of the spectacular sights is the sea of clouds after rain if you are lucky. After the tour, we will take a cable car down the mountain.

   

   Next, you'll be guided to explore Yuanjiajie, the inspiration for the Hallelujah Mountains in the super famous movie Avatar. You can experience the world's highest outdoor elevator, Bailong Elevator. The elevator has a vertical height difference of 335 meters and runs for about 66 seconds. When you step out of the elevator, a magical landscape painting will unfold in front of you. The massive quartz-sandstone pillars are just towering over you or next to you.

3. Day 3: Departure from Zhangjiajie
   Experience Breathtaking Views on A Glass Bridge & 999-step Stairway to Heaven's Gate

   After breakfast, drive for 40 minutes from hotel to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, a landform museum of Zhangjiajie, that integrates mountains, rivers, and caves.

   Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge is a big highlight of the Canyon. It is the longest and highest glass bridge in the world, with a length of 430 meters. When walking on the transparent glass, you can have a panoramic view of flying waterfalls, running streams, and lush forests.

   

   Next, you will be transferred to explore Tianmen Mountain. Take the longest cable car (7,455 meters long) in the world up to the top of Tianmen Mountain for 28 minutes. Along the way, you can appreciate the amazing scenery and take photos of the coiling road of 99 turns. On the top, you will walk on the thrilling Glass Skywalk and Ghost Valley Plank Road hanging on the cliff. Also, pay a visit to the Tianmen Temple, the center of Buddhism activities in western Hunan.

   Then, get to Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Door Cave), a natural water-eroded cave with the highest elevation in the world. You can conquer the 999 steps to Tianmen Cave and enjoy the wonderful scenery from above.

   Your 3-day private Zhangjiajie tour ends here. Your guide and driver will transfer you to catch your departure flight. Goodbye! Bon voyage!

   

   Good to Know:

   In winter, in case of heavy snow or severe cold weather, Tianmen Cave and Ghost Valley Plank Road may be closed. Your guide and consultant will adjust your itinerary accordingly.

   Tianmen Mountain is very close to downtown Zhangjiajie, so we put it on the last day of the tour for easy access to the airport or train station.
