Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Chengdu - Leshan - Chengdu by Car
   Leshan Giant Buddha (Lunch)

   After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby and then drive to Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area, a marvel from the Tang Dynasty (A.D. 713 to 803), is a colossal statue carved into a cliff face overlooking the confluence of three rivers. Standing at 71 meters tall, it took 90 years to complete and was conceived by Monk Haitong to mitigate local flooding. Visitors can marvel at the intricacy of this ancient masterpiece, explore the surrounding scenic area, and take in breathtaking views of the Buddha from various vantage points. Boat tours along the adjacent rivers offer a unique perspective of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

   Enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant.

   In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to your Chengdu hotel.

2. Day 2: Chengdu – Xian by Bullet Train
   Chengdu Panda Breeding Center (Lunch)

   AM: In the morning our guide and driver will greet you in your hotel lobby and escort you to the No. 1 highlight of Chengdu: Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation and research facility dedicated to the protection of China's iconic giant pandas. Situated in Chengdu, this renowned base offers visitors a rare opportunity to witness these adorable creatures in a simulated natural environment. Visitors can observe pandas of all ages, from playful cubs to mature adults, engaging in various activities. The base's commitment to education is evident through informative exhibits, providing insights into panda behavior, conservation efforts, and the challenges they face. A visit promises an enchanting experience, fostering awareness and appreciation for these beloved bears.

   After the tour, you will be escorted to Chengdu East Train Station for a high-speed train to Xian. Upon your arrival, the Xian local driver will greet you at the exit and then escort you to your hotel for check-in.

3. Day 3: Xian
   Banpo Museum, Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Lunch)

   In the morning, our guide will fetch you from your hotel. Your first destination will be the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, the Eighth Wonders of the World. Discovered in 1974 by local farmers drilling a well, the original site has become a museum featuring Pit 1 (the largest pit), Pit 2, Pit 3, and an exhibition hall showcasing chariots and horses. Your museum visit will last 2-3 hours, during which our expert tour guide will provide insights into the concealed narratives behind the life-sized sculptures and delve into the history of their owner: the First Emperor of Qin, who is also recognized as the inaugural emperor of China.

   

   In the afternoon, continue to visit Banpo Neolithic Village (1-hour visiting time). This New Stone Age site, dating from approximately 5,000 to 4,000 B.C., is one of the most complete examples of a Neolithic agricultural settlement in the world. Next, we come to Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a symbol of ancient Buddhism. Originally built in the 7th century, it offers visitors a glimpse into China's rich history and religious heritage. Exploring the pagoda allows for a captivating experience of ancient artifacts, serene surroundings, and a chance to ascend for panoramic views of the city.

   Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

4. Day 4: Xian Departure
   Muslim Quarter, Xian Ancient City Wall (Lunch)

   Start your day with a transfer to the majestic Ancient City Wall, a historical marvel that surrounds the heart of the city. Upon arrival, take a moment to absorb the grandeur of this ancient structure, which dates back centuries. Embark on a leisurely bike ride atop the Ancient City Wall, offering an immersive experience as you traverse the perimeter. Feel the cool breeze against your face while taking in panoramic views of the cityscape. This optional activity adds an extra layer of excitement to your morning exploration.

   Following your exploration of the Ancient City Wall, venture into the vibrant streets of the Muslim Quarter. Rich in culture and history, this bustling neighborhood is a sensory delight. As you stroll through the narrow lanes, you'll encounter a kaleidoscope of colors, scents, and sounds. The market stalls are filled with local delicacies, handmade crafts, and traditional goods. Take the time to interact with friendly locals, sample regional specialties, and capture the essence of daily life in this dynamic quarter.

   After a morning filled with cultural exploration, indulge in a delightful lunch at a local eatery, savoring the flavors of the region.
