4 Days Jiuzhaigou & Huanglong Highlights Tour

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Dujiangyan Panda Base

   Gather at the designated assembly point at 8:30, then drive to Dujiangyan Panda Base which is 60 km away from the city center. The base is the only scientific research institution in China focusing on the prevention and control of panda diseases and wild panda rescue. The park will refresh you with not only the cute pandas, but also the surrounding green trees, verdant bamboos, birds and flowers, fresh air, plus vast lawn and winding trails. After the Dujiangyan Panda Base, drive about 5.5 - 6 hours to Jiuzhaigou.

2. Day 2: Jiuzhaigou

   After breakfast, on the way to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, you will pass by the Gami Temple. A sacred place of Tantric Bon Religion, Gami Temple is beautifully built and remarkable for its unique scenery. Buddhists should not miss it.

   Move on to Jiuzhaigou (Nine Villages Valley). Located on the edge of the Tibetan Himalayan Plateau, Jiuzhaigou is a host of shimmering blue and green lakes, spectacular waterfalls, far-reaching mountain slopes, karst limestone formations, colorful forests, and unique flora and fauna. It has earned a UNESCO World Heritage Site title in 1992 thanks to its picturesque natural wonders.  At about 16:30, drive back to your hotel.

   In the evening, you will be shocked by a large-scale singing and dancing show - Eternal Love in Jiuzhaigou, where the graceful and mysterious songs and dances will offer you a thorough experience of Tibetan and Qiang customs (180-260 CNY / person at your own expense).

   Notes:

   1.Expect a long time outdoor sightseeing today. Please bring your hat, glasses, and sunscreen to avoid the strong ultraviolet rays.

   2.The only restaurant in the scenic spot is NuoRiLang Restaurant.

   3.Smoking is not allowed in the scenic area. Those smoke-addicted people, please bear with it, otherwise, you will be fined heavily.

3. Day 3: Huanglong-Songpan Ancient Town

   After breakfast, drive to Huanglong Scenic Area where you will spend 3-4 hours sightseeing. A famous scenic and historic interest area, Huanglong highlights its colorful lakes, snow-covered mountains, lush forests, and deep canyons. Beyond these, you can also expect hot springs, ancient temples, waterfalls, travertine caves, and etc. You are recommended to take the cable-way to get up and down the mountain.

   

   After Huanglong sightseeing, you will drive to Songpan Ancient Town, which is located in the northwest of Sichuan Province. It is frequented by many visitors because the historical traces can be seen in every corner. The blue city walls, ancient bridges, tea houses, tall city gates, low buildings, and surrounding green hills are just a part of its many attractive features.

   Drive to the hotel for check-in at the end of the day.

   Overnight in Chuanzhusi

   

   Tips:

   Due to the high altitude of the Huanglong Scenic Area, altitude sickness may be caused. Please take along your anti-altitude drugs.

4. Day 4: Ancient Qiang City-Kuanzhai Alley- Jinli

   After breakfast, a 5.5 - 6 hours' drive will take you back to Chengdu. Pay a visit to the iconic landmark of Chengdu, Kuanzhai Alley. An ancient block dating from the Qing Dynasty, Kuanzhai Alley is the collective name for Wide Alley, Narrow Alley, and Well Alley. It is now a leisure and living area packed with a lot of restaurants, souvenir stores, tea houses, and pubs. You will get a rare chance to enjoy the ear-picking service and face-changing opera.    Head to Jinli, another must-visit site in Chengdu. It is a gourmet street loaded with many local food stalls and souvenir shops selling lacquer products, folk handicrafts, curios, calligraphies, etc.

   Your 4-day Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong tour ends here after visiting Jinli.
