Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Hailar

   Welcome to Hailar! Upon arrival, the local guide and driver will transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city or have a rest.

2. Day 2: Experience Naadam Festival at Baiyin Hada Grassland
   Explore the Lively Mongolian Traditional Festival

   After breakfast, you will start the cultural tour of Inner Mongolia. The guide and driver will take you to the Baiyin Hada Grassland to witness the grand opening ceremony of the Naadam Festival. The Mongolian word for “Naadam” means entertainment or games, and the Naadam Festival is a cultural and sporting event held by the local people to celebrate their harvest.

   Highlights of the festival include the impressive parade of the Nine White Banners and listening to the Morin khuur, one of the most important traditional Mongolian musical instruments.

   

   During the Naadam Festival, you will watch the exciting horseracing, wrestling, and archery. Horseracing competitions include speed racing and horseback walking, which are usually held at racecourses on the grasslands. Wrestling is one of the most popular events at the Naadam Festival, where participants demonstrate strength and skill through traditional wrestling matches. And in archery competitions, participants need to demonstrate accurate shooting skills.

   In addition, enjoy cultural performances, including song and dance shows as well as ethnic operas. Also go to the Tourism Commodity Exhibition, which shows local handicrafts and tourist souvenirs. You will learn about the rich cultural heritage of the Mongolian people through these cultural activities.

   At the end of the day, the private driver and guide will driver you to the hotel in Hailar.

3. Day 3: Hailar to Hulunbuir Grassland to Shiwei Tour
   Marvel at the Wonders of Nature in the Magnificent Grassland and Wetlands

   Today continue your Hulunbuir tour from the Hulunbuir Grassland, one of the four great grasslands of the world and is known as the best grassland in the world. Here stunned by the picturesque scenery of the boundless grassland together with the blue sky and white clouds. See a variety of animals such as sheep, horses and cows, as well as experience the traditional herdsman life and culture. Also take a leisurely stroll along the Morigele River, admire the winding and sparkling river.

   And you can choose to join in traditional Mongolian activities, such as horseback riding, wrestling, archery, and folk performances (optional).

   

   Then enjoy a Mongolian-style lunch on the grassland, tasting some local food like roast lamb, milk tea, cheese, and yogurt. You will have opportunity to talk with Mongolian people to know about the local life and customs.

   Later drive to Ergun Wetland Scenic Area, known as the first wetland in Asia. Here admire the expansive wetlands, dense forests and abundant wildlife. Also wander along the wooden trestle to get a closer view of the ecological landscape. In the area, you can take wonderful photos while feeling the charm of nature.

   

   Next proceed to Shiwei Russian Town, a charming border town facing Russia across the picturesque Ergun River. Visit its Russian-style houses, churches, and museums here. Also explore traditional Russian life and taste delicacies such as pickles and caviar. And witness a stunning sunset from a nearby hillside overlooking the Ergun River and the Russian town of Olochi on the opposite bank.

4. Day 4: Shiwei Tour, Hailar Departure
   Enjoy the Peaceful Landscapes and Ancient Forestry Culture

   In the morning, you will be immersed in the tranquility of Shiwei Russian Town. Enjoy the great natural scenery, take beautiful photos or explore local shops for nice souvenirs.

   After breakfast, move to the Haur River Scenic Area, known for its natural landscapes and rich cultural experiences. Climb up to the viewing platform for a full view of the picturesque Haur River and lush forests. And in the Forest Culture Exhibition Hall, you can observe 131 kinds of animal and plant specimens to learn about the ecology of the area.
