Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Huangshan Arrival
   Free Time in an Ancient Village

   Upon your arrival at Huangshan, your local driver will greet you at the exit of the airport/train station by holding a name sign and take you to lunch at Huangshan downtown.

   After that, we will drive about 40 minutes to Tangmo Village and check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is for your own arrangement. Combining Huizhou-style architecture and rural scenery, Tangmo preserves the complete spatial layout and historical features of the ancient village, making it an excellent place to experience Huizhou culture. ‌‌

   Notes:

   • You can prepare something for the hiking in advance. Highly recommend you prepare some snacks to keep your energy up.
   • Don't forget the hiking pole and raincoat.

2. Day 2: Yellow Mountain Hike Tour
   Learn Village Arts, Hike the Huangshan Mountain

   After breakfast, your Huangshan tour guide will meet you at your hotel and show you around Tangmo Ancient Village. The village could be dated back to the Tang Dynasty, and its name means "model village of the Tang Dynasty" (Tang refers to the Tang Dynasty, and mo means model in Chinese). Because the village is barely touched by tourist groups, you can have an enjoyable time exploring the village. You will learn Rubbing Art from a teacher and try to make a piece by yourself to feel the charm of calligraphy culture.

   Then we move on to Lingshan Village. Surrounded by endless bamboo forests, the village seems far away from the bustling world, and the people here live a simple life. Walking along Water Street, see old residential houses, stone bridges, and even villagers washing their clothes in the river. Lingshan people make full use of abundant bamboo resources. They can make baskets, hats, dustpans, and other things through bamboo weaving.

   

   After lunch, say goodbye to the villages and drive to Mount Muangshan. Upon arrival, take a shuttle bus first and then take a cable car up the mountain at Yungun Station. Your guide will lead you to see the beautiful scenery at Beginning-to-Believe Peak and finally go to the Cloud-dispelling Pavilion to enjoy the sunset. Along the way, you will see many uniquely shaped pine trees growing from steep cliffs, as if someone has trimmed them such as the Harp Pine and Black Tiger Pine.

   There will be many staircases that go up and down, but all the tiredness of climbing will be gone when you are rewarded with breathtaking views. Please do not watch your camera or phone while walking.

   Tonight we will stay at a hotel on the mountain to catch the sunrise the next day.

3. Day 3: Mount Huangshan Tour
   Catch the Breathtaking Sunrise, Glimpse Huizhou Culture

   Today, get up in the early morning to witness the incredible sunrise. When the mountain is still sleeping under the starry sky, we will leave the hotel to occupy a vantage point and quietly wait for the thrilling moment. Over time, the color of the sky will change slowly. The sun finally shows its head and the peaks are bathed in dazzling gold. After that, go back to the hotel and have breakfast.

   Then continue your Huangshan Mountain tour to explore Bright Summit, the second-highest peak of the mountain, and hike to Flying-over Rock. On the way back to the cable car station, you can see Monkey Watching the Sea on Lion Peak. After all visits, hop on a cable car and descend the mountain to go back to Huangshan downtown.

   

   In the afternoon, visit Tunxi Ancient Street and Hu Kaiwen Ink-stick Factory. Tunxi Ancient Street is the most intact ancient street in China with architectural styles of the Southern Song Dynasty and the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a total length of 1,272 meters. It is surrounded by mountains and waters, consisting of over 300 Huizhou-style buildings, with shops lining both sides of the street. Tourists can taste Huizhou specialty cuisine and gain a deeper understanding of Huizhou culture and history.

   Then, transfer to Hu Kaiwen Ink-stick Factory which was founded by Hu Kaiwen in 1765. You can learn about the production process of ink here, purchase various ink sticks and inkstones, and experience the unique charm of Huizhou ink.

   At the end of the tour, your guide and driver will take you to a downtown hotel.

4. Day 4: Huangshan Departure
   Appreciate Huizhou-style Architecture and Natural Beauty

   Meet your guide and driver at your hotel lobby in the morning after breakfast and check out as you will leave Huangshan directly after the tour. Please pack your belongings in advance.

   We will visit Hongcun Ancient Village today. An outstanding representative of Huizhou architecture, the village was listed on the World Cultural Heritage List in 2000. Here, you can see famous scenic spots such as South Lake and Moon Pond, as well as over 140 ancient Ming and Qing dynasty residences. This is an excellent place to experience Huizhou culture and natural beauty.

   In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the train station/airport for your departure train/flight. Our service of 4-day private Huangshan tour will end here. Wish you a pleasant journey.
