Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Xiamen Arrival, Xiamen City TourEnjoy the Charming Nature and Culture
Upon arrival, you will be transferred by the local guide and driver to the hotel for check-in.
The first stop of your Xiamen tour is South Putuo Temple, founded in the Tang Dynasty. The area is divided into two parts—the external part is a garden and the interior part consists of the monastic buildings. The main buildings of the temple are built down the hillside, creating a majestic atmosphere. Explore the precious Buddhist artifacts here, such as Buddhist statues, scriptures, and murals. Wander in the ancient temple to learn about the Buddhist heritage.
South Putuo Temple Later, take a ferry to Gulangyu Island, combining history, culture and natural landscape. Wander through its charming streets, and explore the complex of buildings in diverse architectural styles. Hike up Sunlight Rock to admire a panoramic view of Gulangyu Island with the boundless blue sea and waves lapping against the reef.
Explore Shuzhuang Garden, a beautiful seaside garden. There are sparkling lakes, magnificent pavilions, and rockery of different shapes. Also, visit a Piano Museum with a collection of more than 100 famous antique pianos from all over the world, you can learn about the history and culture of pianos.
Sunlight Rock After the visit, take the ferry back to Xiamen.
In the evening, you can rest at the hotel or wander around Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street to experience the local life.
- Day 2: Xiamen to Wuyi Mountain TourMarvel at the Magnificent Natural Landscapes
In the morning, travel from Xiamen to Wuyi Mountain by high-speed train. Upon arrival at Wuyishan train station, the local guide and driver will take you to the hotel nestled at the base of Wuyi Mountain.
Wuyi Mountains After a short break, start your Wuyi Mountain tour. The mountain is a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site with diverse ecosystems. First climb Tianyou Peak, the highest peak in Mount Wuyi. Standing at the peak, you can see a panoramic view of Jiuqu Stream, the magnificent mountains around you, and many strange rocks.
Then visit the Yunwo and Tea Cave, mystical caves housing exquisite stalactites. The cave is tranquil and surrounded by peaks, creating a beautiful natural landscape. And entering the cave, you can see a marvelous view of ancient tea trees.
Optional evening activity: Watch “Impression Da Hong Pao”, a breathtaking live performance. It combines Wuyi Mountain’s landscape, lighting, and sound effects to show the history, culture, and legends.
Tianyou Peak - Day 3: Wuyi Mountain Discovery TourImmerse in the Picturesque Views of the Mountains and Streams
Toady, take a bamboo raft down the Jiuqu Stream (Nine Bends Stream), meandering through the core scenic area of Wuyi Mountain. Along the way, immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery with clear streams, towering peaks, and lush forests on both sides.
Next move to the Wuyi Palace, a Taoist temple from the Tang Dynasty, where you can learn about the history and customs of the area. Go to Song Street, an old commercial center from the Song Dynasty. You can buy specialties such as Wuyi rock tea and bamboo crafts here.
Take a bamboo raft drifting on the Jiuqu Stream Later visit the stunning Yixiantian gorge and the Tiger Roaring Rock. Wander through the famous Da Hong Pao Scenic Area, home to six ancient tea trees known as the “World Tea King”. Learn about the historic tea culture while admiring the beauty of the tea fields. Finally visit Shuilian Cave, the largest cave in Wuyi Mountain. You will witness two streams of clear water pouring down from a rock over 100 meters high.
- Day 4: Wuyi Village Tour, DepartureExperience Hakka Culture and History
After breakfast, drive to Xiamei Village, a well-preserved ancient village. Observe exquisite ancient dwellings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and tea trade sites. Also, stroll through the streets, experience Hakka folklore, and taste traditional Hakka cuisine like stuffed tofu.
The 4 days Xiamen and Mount Wuyi tour ends here. In the afternoon, your guide and driver will transfer you to Wuyishan airport or train station for your departure.
