Tour Overview

This 5-day Beijing-Xian join-in tour will arrange the opportune schedule for the two hot tourism cities, and cover all the highlight sites to enrich the itinerary. All the transfer, train tickets, accommodation and lunches are included. It’s a group tour so visitors can also have a more interesting trip together with other friends in the same camp.

Day-by-day Itinerary

  1. Upon your arrival in Beijing, the local driver will hold a name sign to greet you at the exit of Beijing train station or Beijing airport, and then take you to your Beijing hotel to check in. The rest of day is at your disposal.

  2. AM:Meet your guide and driver in the morning, then you will be escorted to Tiananmen Square, the heart and symbol of Beijing and the largest city square in the world. Next you will pay a visit to Forbidden City, one of the largest and most completely preserved palace complex built of wood. It functioned as the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912).

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    PM: After lunch, we will go to Temple of Heaven which serviced as a complex of sacrificial building where emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties prayed for peace and harvest. Today’s last scenic site will be Summer Palace, the largest and most completely preserved imperial garden in China.

  3. AM: In the morning, our Beijing driver and guide will greet you at your downtown hotel lobby holding a board with your name, then directly take you to start today’s tour. First let’s visit Mutianyu Great Wall that built in the early Ming Dynasty. Mutianyu is the most scenic part of Chinese Great Wall, and 90 percent of it is covered by vegetation. If hiking is too much for you, cable car is available and optional.

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    PM: After a Chinese-style lunch, we will head to visit Ming Tombs, the underground palace of Dingling (one of the 13 Ming Dynasty Imperial Mausoleums). Dingling is the tomb of Emperor Shenzong, Zhuyijun, who reigned the nation for 48 years as the longest-serving monarch among all Ming emperors.

    After all the activities, you will be transferred to Beijing train station for the overnight train to Xian (Suggested: Z19/20:40-08:31+1).

  4. AM: In the early morning, you will be picked up at the exit of Xian train station, meet your local Xian guide who’s holding a name board. Then we drive to visit Small Wild Goose Pagoda first, which is one of the two completely preserved Tang Dynasty Buddhist Pagodas in Xian. Next go to Xian Museum where you will find historical relics and learn about the history of this ancient capital city. Later on, visit the North Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The pagoda here was built in the Tang Dynasty for keeping Buddhist Sutra and figurines of the Buddha that Master Xuanzang brought back from ancient India. Now surrounding the Pagoda is the large public square for leisure.

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    PM: In the afternoon, head to Xian ancient City Wall. It was originally built in the Ming Dynasty for military defense. You have an option to ride a bike on the wall top. Afterwards, stop by the Bell Tower and Drum Tower Square and Muslim Quarter, a hub of the Muslim community and the famous snack street in China. When the tour concludes, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Xian.

  5. AM: Your guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby, and then drive you to visit world-renowned Terracotta Warriors. Known as “the Eighth Wonder of the world”, the museum shows a surprisingly high level in sculpture, which is listed in the most significant discoveries of the 20th century. Before Terracotta Warriors, you will have a short stop at Xian Terracotta & Lacquer Furniture Art Factory.

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    PM: Afterwards, let’s head to Banpo Museum. This New Stone Age site, dating from approximately 5,000 to 4,000 B.C. is one of the most complete examples of a Neolithic agricultural settlement in the world, and the largest ruins of the Neolithic Age in China discovered by now. After the day tour, you will be transferred to Xian train station or airport to catch your departure train or flight.

From $919 P.P, which is based on a private tour for 2 people. The price varies depending on the activity, number of people, travel date, and selected hotel.

 

Special notes:

  • A minimum of 2 people is required to operate the tour. If you travel alone and there is no other traveler booking this tour, we reserve the right to cancel the tour and will contact you in advance.
  • 2 people of the same gender share one room. If you prefer better privacy, or there is no fellow traveler with the same gender to match, you need to pay a single supplement.
  • Optional activities to be paid for on the spot: Cable car; shuttle bus at Great Wall in Beijing; Riding a bike on Xian City Wall; Climbing Big Wild Goose Pagoda or Bell or Drum Tower in Xian.
