Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Hohhot - Huitengxile GrasslandMongolia Museum, Huitengxile Grassland
Welcome to join our 5 days classic Inner Mongolia tour with leisure hike. Your guide and driver will pick you up from the airport and drive around 1h to Hohhot city. (Please arrive between 10 am-11 am)
After lunch, you will start the visit with Mongolia Museum, the largest and best museum in Inner Mongolia.
Then, a 2.5 hours drive will take you to Huitengxile Grassland. An alpine meadow sitting 1,800m above sea level, Huitengxile Grassland enjoys cool weather in summer, making it an ideal summer vacation destination. Its large scale, steppe scenery, 99 natural lakes, magnificent hills, sea of flowers make it stand out from all other grasslands in Inner Mongolia.
Don’t miss the wind power plant on the grassland which is the biggest one of its kind in Asia, and a landmark of the Huitengxile Grassland, boasting over 1,000 wind power turbines.

Huitengxile Grassland - Day 2: Huitengxile Grassland - HohhotYellow Flower Valley, Chahar Volcano Geo-park
You are recommended to get up early (around 4 am) in the morning if you want to catch the marvelous sunrise view on the grassland.
After a simple breakfast in the yurt, enjoy some free time to walk around and breathe some fresh air. Then, do some light hiking (around 2hrs) at Yellow Flower Valley, a world-renowned winding valley in the west of Huitengxile Pasture, the site of an ancient glacier.
After that, head to Chahar Volcano Geo-park. Hike for 1-1.5 hours to reach the volcanoes, and you'll feel extremely excited when looking down at the landscape beneath. This might be a memorable moment in your life!
Finish the hiking, drive back to Hohhot, and have a food exploration in Saishang Old Street, Jiujiu Street, and Tongshun Alley...

Yellow Flower Valley - Day 3: Hohhot - Wudangzhao - Dalad BannerDazhao Monastery, Wudangzhao Monastery
Follow your guide to visit Dazhao Monastery, the largest and most well-preserved lamasery in Hohhot. As Hohhot's first Lama temple, it has been regarded as a religious heart for all Mongolian people.
Later, move forward to Dalad Banner to stay close to the Kubuqi Desert, on the way, pay a visit to Wudangzhao Monastery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Inner Mongolia.

Wudangzhao Monastery - Day 4: Dalad Banner - Kubuqi Desert - OrdosKubuqi Desert
Today you will have fun in the desert! Firstly, head to Kubuqi Desert. On the way, you will cross the bridge of the Yellow River. Get on the Ordos Plateau and you can appreciate the great scene of the plateau and canyon.
You'll be left with 2-3 hours to enjoy in the desert. In the end, drive around 1.5 hours to the hotel in Ordos.
Friendly tips: take a heavy coat due to the large temperature difference between day and night.

Kubuqi Desert - Day 5: Ordos DepartureMausoleum of Genghis Khan, Ordos Museum, Ordos Wedding Garden
This morning, have a glance at Ordos city. The Mausoleum of Genghis Khan is a not-to-miss place, a temple devoted to the worship of Genghis Khan (the founder and Great Khan of the Mongol Empire).
Later, continue to Kangbashi, and have a leisure walk in Mongolian Chess Square. Learn more about Inner Mongolia at Ordos Museum. Go to Ordos Wedding Garden, a local park themed displaying traditional Mongolian weddings.
After all the visits, your driver will escort you to Ordos airport for departure (please depart after 6 pm).
