5 Days Guiyang – Huangguoshu – Fanjingshan Tour

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Guiyang

   Welcome to Guiyang, one of China's top summer resorts! Upon your arrival at the airport, the private local driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name. Then you will be transferred to your selected hotel for rest and relaxation.

   If you have energy, you can explore the city on your own. You are recommended to take a stroll along the Nanming River. Here, you can see a landmark building of Guiyang, Jiaxiu Pavilion, built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), situated on a huge stone in the Nanming River in the city center.

2. Day 2: Guiyang to Anshun Tour
   Stroll around the Ancient Town and Admire the Most Beautiful Karst Cave

   Your guided Guizhou tour starts with the Qingyan Old Town. As one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou, it is famous for its long history and strong cultural atmosphere. Because of the local geological conditions, the ancient town is built entirely of stone. Visitors can see the spectacular wall built right on the cliffs with vast rocks, dividing the Qingyan into the Inner and Outer towns. Strolling through narrow alleys, you can taste local specialty snacks offered by street vendors.

   

   Then, go to appreciate the intricate wood carvings at Shoufo Temple and explore the stone carvings at Ciyun Temple.

   After lunch, you will be transferred to Anshun City to visit the Dragon Palace Scenic Area. Marvel at the longest and most beautiful karst cave in the country. You will take a small boat trip to enter the palace, admiring the amazing stalactites, stalagmites, and underground streams... Also, you can see the Dragon Gate Waterfall plunging into the cave, which is a breathtaking view

   After the visit, drive you to the hotel in Anshun for the night.

3. Day 3: Huangguoshu Waterfall Tour to Tongren
   Visit the Largest Waterfall in Asia Up Close

   Today, take a guided Guizhou tour to Huangguoshu Waterfall. Your private guide will lead you to Doupotang Waterfall first, located 1 km upstream of Huangguoshu Waterfall. With a height of 105 meters, it is the widest waterfall in the waterfall group. The amazing thing about this waterfall is that the cave to the left of the waterfall has a strange resonance when a huge flood passes by. After that, move on to Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area, where you will see the essence of karst landform.

   At 77.8 meters high, 101 meters wide, the famous Huangguoshu Waterfall in the park is the largest in Asia. There are six viewing platforms, allowing visitors to appreciate the waterfall from above, below, front, back, left, and right. Put on a raincoat and walk into the Waterfall Cave to get up close and personal with the waterfall, which is something else.

   

   After the tour, your guide will transfer you to take a bullet train for a 2.5-hour to Tongren. Upon arrival, a local driver will meet you and your guide and then escort you to a comfortable hotel located near Mount Fanjing.

4. Day 4: Fanjingshan Tour
   Explore Mount Fanjing by Cable Car, Hike to Mushroom Stone, Golden Summit

   Today is dedicated to exploring the majestic Fanjingshan or Mount Fanjing, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Upon arrival at the entrance, be guided to take a sightseeing bus to Yu'ao Station for the cable car.

   Catch the beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes during the 20-minute ride. Getting off the cable car, your Fanjingshan hike begins. Along the Forest Hiking Road, Hike for 45 minutes to a rock formation formed called Mushroom Stone. Resembling a mushroom, it is one of Guizhou's landmarks.

   

   Continue hiking for half an hour to reach the Golden Summit. It is really worth your hike as you will see the breathtaking scenery including the iconic Red Clouds Golden Summit from afar when stepping on the Old Golden Summit. Move to the sacred Cheng'en Temple, a Ming Dynasty temple that attracts a continuous stream of pilgrims. This has earned Fanjingshan Mountain the title of "one of Five Great Buddhist Temples in China".

   

   From there, challenge yourself with the steep and narrow steps, equipped with iron chains, leading to the Red Clouds Golden Summit, where you will see a giant stone column roots deeply in-ground, and splits into two parts on the top. A stone bridge is built to connect the two flats, enabling you a convenient visit to the two temples on either side of the flats. After the sightseeing, descend from the summit by taking the cable car and sightseeing bus to the Fanjingshan Scenic Area Exit. Your guide and driver will then accompany you to Jiangkou County in Tongren for the night.

5. Day 5: Departure from Tongren
