Day 1: Shanghai Arrival
the Bund, Nanjing Road, Huangpu River Cruise (No Meal)

Upon your arrival at Shanghai airport, your guide will greet you at the exit of arrival hall by holding a name sign and take you to kick off your Shanghai trip. You will explore Nanjing Road to see traditional department and stores, and optionally try some authentic Shanghai snacks. Next, wander around the Bund to admire buildings in various styles, view stunning Pudong skyline, and listen to your guide explaining its history. Then experience the relaxing a Huangpu River Cruise to enjoy the beauty of this magic city from different angle. Afterwards, escort you to your hotel.

Day 2: Shanghai - Suzhou by Car
Humble Administrator’s Garden, Pingjiang Road, Net Master Garden ( B )

AM: In the morning, drive to Suzhou to visit Humble Administrator’s Garden, an excellent example of classical Chinese garden. It enjoys equal fame with Summer Palace in Beijing, Emperor Kangxi’s Summer Mountain Resort in Chengde and Lingering Garden also in Suzhou as one of China’s four most famous gardens. In 1509 of the Ming Dynasty, the supervising censor Wang Xianchen resigned and went back to his homeland because of disappointed ambition in politics and spent 16 years building the garden.

Noon: Lunch on your own.

PM: Next, walk along the Grand Canal to Pingjiang Road. You will have a walk on the Pingjiang Road to appreciate the old stone bridges and folk houses. Last stop is Net Master Garden. Although it’s the smallest garden in Suzhou, you will be impressed by its compact layout. Its name means Fisherman’s Garden in Chinese, implying that the owner wanted to leave political life. Your guide will lead you to explore Sedan Chair Hall, Ten Thousand Volumes Hall, Hall of Ascending Cloud, Five Peaks Library, Hall of Mind Concentration, Hall of Viewing Pines and Paintings, etc. one by one. At the end of the tour, escort back to hotel for a good rest.

Net Master Garden
Day 3: Suzhou - Zhouzhuang - Shanghai by Car
Zhouzhuang Water Town ( B )

AM: After breakfast, meet your guide and driver at your hotel lobby and head to Zhouzhuang Water Town, one of the most famous water towns in China. It is noted for its breathtaking natural beauty, the profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses, and the strong local traditions and customs. One must-visit site is Former Residence of Shen Wansan. Shen Wansan was the richest businessman in Jiangnan during the later Yuan and early Ming dynasty. Your guide will tell you the stories of this legendary person. You can optionally take a boat cruise if interested (cost on your own).

Noon: Lunch on your own.

PM: After saying goodbye to the water town, you will get back to your Shanghai Hotel.

Zhouzhuang Water Town
Day 4: Shanghai
Shanghai Museum,Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai World Financial Center, Tianzifang ( B )

AM: After hotel pick up, transfer to Shanghai Museum. The museum houses millions of collections and especially features bronze wares, porcelain works, paintings and calligraphy works. The guide will show you around to trace Chinese history and culture through the well-preserved treasures. Then we will visit Yuyuan Garden. This over 400-year-old classical Chinese garden was originally built in the Ming Dynasty by the owner Pan Yunduan for his parents to enjoy later life. We will wander around to enjoy the beautiful scenery and visit Zigzag Bridge, Great Rockery, Jade Rock, Sansui Hall, etc.

Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

PM:In the afternoon, we will move on to Shanghai World Financial Center which offers magnificent views of Huangpu River. We will take elevator to the sightseeing platform at a maximum speed of 8 meters per second. You will have a walking-in-the-air experience on the 55-meter-long suspended sightseeing corridor in the 100^th floor. Today’s last stop is Tianzifang, a creative industry cluster area transformed from unique Shanghai Shikumen buildings. You will see many local residents still live here while walking through the narrow lanes.

Yuyuan Garden
Day 5: Shanghai Departure (B)
