Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Guiyang
Welcome to Guiyang, one of China's top summer resorts! Upon your arrival at the airport, the private local driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name. Then you will be transferred to your selected hotel for rest and relaxation.
If you have energy, you can explore the city on your own. You are recommended to take a stroll along the Nanming River. Here, you can see a landmark building of Guiyang, Jiaxiu Pavilion, built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), situated on a huge stone in the Nanming River in the city center.

After breakfast, you will begin your Guiyang tour at the Qingyan Ancient Town. As one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou, it is famous for its long history and strong cultural atmosphere. Because of the local geological conditions, the ancient town is built entirely of stone. Visitors can see the spectacular wall built right on the cliffs with vast rocks, dividing the Qingyan into the Inner and Outer towns. Strolling through narrow alleys, you can taste local specialty snacks offered by street vendors.
Qingyan Ancient Town Afterwards, you will return to the city center to visit Jiaxiu Tower, a three-storey ancient building that is a witness to the history of Guiyang. The pavilion has endured four hundred years of wind and rain, and still stands tall today, which is truly precious. Here you can see the panoramic view of the city and Nanming River. Then, your tour guide will take you to visit a villa that perfectly blends Eastern and Western styles. Get to know the interesting story behind this villa from the Republic of China era (1912-1949).

After breakfast, we drive for about 2.5 hours to visit the stunning Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) at Guizhou Radio Astronomy Observatory. This is the world's largest radio telescope. Under the guidance of the informative guide, you can gain a deep understanding of the mysteries of the universe. Visiting the museum here will give you a fresh perspective on the construction process of FAST and its application value.

Fast Telescope - Day 4: Guizhou Tour to Hidden VillageTraditional Welcome Ceremony and Hands-on Paper-making
Today Guizhou tour will take you away from the hustle and bustle of the city and lead you to hidden Miao villages. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the local hospitable traditional ceremony - provided with locally specially made rice wine.
Wine Welcome Ceremony After taking a short break in the village, you will be directed to a workshop where you will experience paper making with wood pulp under the guidance of a skilled master. You can learn about the complexity of this ancient craft. Afterwards, take a leisure stroll around the village, visit local houses, and learn about the life of the Miao people.

Learn the ancient art of paper-making - Day 5: Guizhou Culture TourTraditional Wax Dyeing Experience and Miao Mini Skirts
Today is a cultural exploration day. After breakfast, your guide will take you to a village famous for wax dyeing production. Wax dyeing is a traditional technique in Miao ethnic areas and also one of the national intangible cultural heritages. You will walk into a local dyeing workshop and witness how white cloth turns into a blue hue, decorated with interesting patterns drawn with wax.
Our guest's batik artwork After lunch, head to another Miao village known for its unique short skirt. Miao women here usually wear a pleated skirt that is only 5-8 cun long (17-27 cm), which is jokingly referred to as a "mini short skirt". They usually wear two dresses; and during festive occasions, wear three or four dresses adorned with butterfly embroidery. You can learn about the cultural significance behind these unique costumes.

Short Shirt Miao Village - Day 6: Departure from Guiyang
