6 Days Huangshan and Zhangjiajie Tour with Natural Wonders

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Huangshan Arrival

   When you arrive in Huangshan City, a local private driver will greet you at the exit of the airport/train station and transfer you to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is for your arrangement. If you need any suggestions in your free time, we will be very happy to help you.

   Friendly Tips:

   • You can prepare something for the hiking in advance. Highly recommend you prepare some snacks to keep your energy up.
   • Don't forget the hiking pole and raincoat.

2. Day 2: Mount Huangshan Hike Tour
   Take a Hike to See Various Shapes of Pine Trees

   Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel, and then we will drive about 1 hour to Mount Huangshan Scenic Area. Known as "the most wonderful mountain in the world", Yellow Mountain is one of the most famous mountains in China. There are five wonders, including strange pines, queer rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow. Xu Xiake, a famous traveler in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), once visited Mount Huangshan twice and exclaimed: "After visiting the five great mountains, I decided not to see the other mountains, but after my return from Mount Huangshan, I don't care even to glance at the five great mountains."

   Upon arrival, transfer to the shuttle bus and head to Yungu Station to take the cable car up the mountain. Today you will mainly visit Beihai Scenic Area. Mount Huangshan tour officially starts! Along the way, you will appreciate various shapes of pine trees such as Harp Pine, Black Tiger Pine, and uniquely shaped rocks. Hike to the Cloud-dispelling Pavilion to enjoy the spectacular sunset. Continue hiking to catch the beautiful scenery of the Xihai Grand Canyon.

   You will spend the night on Mount Huangshan Mountain tonight.

3. Day 3: Huangshan Village Tour
   Enjoy the Glorious Sunrise Scenery, Admire Hui-style Buildings

   If the weather is clear, you will wake up early this morning to enjoy the magnificent sunrise scenery. After the visit, return to your hotel for breakfast.

   After checking out, continue your Yellow Mountain tour and hike to the second peak of Yellow Mountain, Bright Summit (6,102 feet), to enjoy the strange Flying-Over Rock. Afterward, go to Lion Peak to see Monkey Watching the Sea. Walk back to Yungu Station and take the cable car down the mountain.

   

   After that, you will be transferred to Hongcun Village, located in Yixian County, Huangshan City, which enjoys the reputation of "village in Chinese painting". Here, you will appreciate famous Huizhou-style architecture, including exquisite Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient residences such as Chengzhi Hall and Nanhu Academy. In addition, take a walk along Nanhu Lake and Moon Pond to capture the beautiful scenery.

   Then move on to explore the ancient houses and 99 cobblestone-paved maze-like lanes in Xidi Ancient Village. When you arrive at the village, a magnificent archway, Hu Wenguang Memorial Archway, will stare at you at the entrance. The archway, built in the Ming Dynasty, is over 400 years old and has become a landmark of the village and a witness of the village's history. Marvel at the delicate stone carvings on it and how sturdy it is, still in good condition after so many years.

   After saying goodbye to the villages, we will drive back to Huangshan downtown.

4. Day 4: Huangshan to Zhangjiajie Tour

   Today you will travel from Huangshan to Zhangjiajie by flight or train with transportation arranged on your own. Because no direct flight or train is running between the two places, you need to transit via another city. Usually, you are suggested to take a high-speed train to Shanghai from Huangshan and then take a flight to Zhangjiajie from Shanghai, or take a high-speed train from Huangshan to Changsha and then another high-speed train from Changsha to Zhangjiajie.

   The land transfer between your hotels to the train stations or airports is included. Please inform us of your transportation information and we will arrange a private driver for the transfer accordingly.

5. Day 5: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Tour
   Walk on a Thrilling Glass Bridge, Hike along the Tranquil Stream

   After breakfast, your Zhangjiajie tour guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel lobby and start today's adventure with Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. It is a landform museum of Zhangjiajie, integrating mountains, rivers, and caves. In the valley, you can see monkeys jumping and birds singing, and the reflection of green and steep mountains in the clear water.

   Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, a highlight of the Canyon, is the longest and highest glass bridge in the world with a length of 430 meters. You can have a panoramic view of flying waterfalls, lush forests, and running streams when walking on the transparent glass floor.

   

   After that, you will be transferred for a 1 hour and 20 minutes' ride to the famous Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It's the first national forest park in China and was included in World Natural Heritage List in 1992 for the queer forest of quartz sandstone peaks. Here you can enjoy a 2-hour hike along the Golden Whip Stream. It is one of the most beautiful sites in Zhangjiajie. Just listen to the murmurs of the stream, stroll along the valley, and stop to watch the fish swimming in the crystal-clear water.

   After the whole day tour in Zhangjiajie, board the private car back to the hotel.

6. Day 6: Zhangjiajie Departure
   Discover 'Hallelujah Mountain' from Avatar in the Real World

   Today's private China trip continues in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, starting at Yuanjiajie, the inspiration for Hallelujah Mountain in the super famous movie Avatar. You can experience the Bailong Elevator, the highest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world. When you step out of the elevator, a magical landscape painting will unfold in front of you. The massive quartz-sandstone pillars are just towering over you or next to you.

   Then go to explore Tianzi Mountain. Take a sightseeing bus to the mountain top. You will witness rugged rocks and a forest of stone peaks. One of the spectacular sights is the sea of clouds after rain if you are lucky. After the visit, take a cable car down the mountain.

   At the end of the 6-day Huangshan and Zhangjiajie tour, your guide and driver will transfer you to the train station/airport for your departure train/flight. Our service will end here. Safe travels!
