Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Shanghai Arrival

   Ni Hao (Hello)! So glad to see you on our 6-day Shanghai and Zhangjiajie tour! Upon your arrival at Shanghai airport/train station, a local private driver will pick you up from the exit gate and transfer you to the downtown hotel for check-in. Free and easy on your arrangement for rest of the day.

2. Day 2: Shanghai Essence Tour
   Explore Ancient Garden and Modern Skyline

   In the morning, meet your local guide and start your guided Shanghai tour at the Shanghai Museum. This place gathers rich historical relics, such as ancient coins and exquisite jade artifacts. The tour guide will lead you to listen to the sound of history through wonderful explanations.

   Then, visit a typical Jiangnan classical garden - Yu Garden. Jiuqu Bridge, Lotus Pond, Mid-lake Pavilion are its main attractions. From June to September, you can see blooming lotus flowers. After visiting Yu Garden, go to Yuyuan Market, where various authentic snacks and special handicrafts are gathered.

   

   After lunch, ascend up to the sightseeing corridor of the Shanghai World Financial Center to overlook the magnificent scenery of the entire Shanghai. Then take a stroll along Nanjing Road, the shopping paradise in Shanghai. You can discover not only many international brands, but also traditional time-honored stores. While shopping, taste snacks and experience the common life in Shanghai.

   In the evening, enjoy the many Western-style architectural complexes on the Bund. If you are interested, you can choose to take the Huangpu River night cruise at your own expense to enjoy the dazzling lights and bustling night scenery on both sides.

3. Day 3: Shanghai to Zhangjiajie Tour by Flight
   Experience the Cultural Heritage of the Water Town

   In the morning, drive 1.5 hours to Zhujiajiao Water Town, which is known as the "Venice of Shanghai" and has a history of over 1,700 years. Strolling along the stone-paved roads of the ancient town, you will be attracted by the elegant stone bridges and murmuring rivers, as if transported back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Appreciate the antique architecture and taste authentic snacks.

   If you want to further experience the cultural heritage of the ancient town, you can visit the Kezhi Garden and the Temple of the City God at your own expense. Of course, you can also choose to take a boat ride and travel through the waterways, enjoying the beautiful scenery from another perspective.

   

   When you finish the water town tour, our guide and driver will escort you to the airport for the flight to Zhangjiajie.

   Upon arrival, a local driver will pick you up and transfer you to a local hotel for check-in. Have a good rest for tomorrow (no guide service in Zhangjiajie)!

4. Day 4: Zhangjiajie Nature Tour
   Enjoy the Breathtaking Landscapes of the Canyon & Park

   After breakfast, meet your Zhangjiajie local guide and then drive for 40 minutes to the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. A highlight here is the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, the world's longest and highest glass bridge. Walking on it, you can get a breathtaking panoramic view of waterfalls, streams, and dense forests.
   

   

   Next, we will transfer to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. There, we'll take a cable car to Huangshi Village, the most impressive and scenic observation point in the park. Nestled between cliffs and surrounded by lush trees, the village's peak is often covered in clouds and mist.

   Afterwards, head east to Jinbianxi (Golden Whip Stream), a 7.5-kilometer-long brook named for the Jinbian Rock it passes through. As you stroll along the stream, you'll enjoy the beautiful flora, listen to birdsong, and feel immersed in a living landscape painting. The estimated visit time is two and a half to three hours.

5. Day 5: Zhangjiajie Avatar Tour
   Catch the Surreal Scenery in Avatar

   Today, your Zhangjiajie trip begins at Tianzi Mountain. The sea of clouds, moonlight, sunrise, and winter snow are the four major landscapes here. You will take a sightseeing bus up the mountain to explore the wonders of this scenic area - the clouds surrounded by strange rocky peaks like pillars, towers, as well as a huge rock wall over 20 kilometers long and up to a height of 1,000 meters. After the tour, you will take the cable car down the mountain.

   

   After that, you will be transferred to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to visit Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, where you will experience the Bailong Elevator. It is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the "highest outdoor elevator". The elevator runs at a height of 326 meters and takes about 66 seconds to reach the top. Afterward, you will see the "Hallelujah Mountain", which was levitated in Avatar.

   Finish all the activities, then escort you to the Zhangjiajie downtown area for overnight.

6. Day 6: Zhangjiajei Departure
   Adventure on the World's Longest Cable Car Up and 999 Steps

   In the morning, check out as you will take a departure flight directly after today's tour in Zhangjiajie. Please pack your belongings in advance.

   Today is all about Tianmen Mountain, famous for Tianmen Cave (which means a gate to heaven in Chinese). You will take the world's longest cable car up to the top of the mountain for 28 minutes, appreciating the amazing scenery and taking photos of 99-bend Road on the way.

   Then explore the mountain, walk on the thrilling Glass Skywalk hanging on the cliff, and visit Tianmen Mountain Temple, which was built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

   

   Next, get to Tianmen Cave, a natural water-eroded cave with the highest elevation in the world. From ancient to modern times, numerous people, from emperors to normal people, have come here to pray for blessings. You can conquer the 999 steps to Tianmen Cave and enjoy the wonderful scenery from above.
