Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Zhangjiajie

   Welcome to our well-designed 6-day private Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang tour! Upon your arrival at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, the local driver will greet you with a welcome board and then transfer you to the selected hotel.

   The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city by yourself. If you need any suggestions during your free time, we will be very happy to assist you.

2. Day 2: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Tour
   Tour Tianzi Mountain and Yuanjiajie with Stunning Views & Bailong Elevator

   After breakfast, your local guide and driver will meet you in your hotel to begin today's Zhangjiajie tour at Tianzi Mountain. One of the most spectacular sights is the sea of clouds that appears after rain, if you are lucky. You will also witness grotesque rocks and a forest of stone peaks that resemble a group of warriors awaiting orders. There is a saying that once you have seen Tianzi Mountain, you won't want to see any other peaks.

   

   After lunch, you will be guided to explore Yuanjiajie in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It was inspired Hallelujah Mountain in the famous movie Avatar. Bailong Elevator, the highest outdoor sightseeing elevator (operating at a height of 326 meters) in the world, is a highlight in Yuanjiajie. You will ride the elevator up to the top, which takes only 66 seconds. A breathtaking landscape is waiting for you, with massive quartz-sandstone pillars.

   At the end of the visit, your guide and driver will take you back to your hotel.

3. Day 3: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Tour
   Challenge to Walk on the World's Longest & Highest Transparent Glass Bridge

   After breakfast, your Zhangjiajie tour today begins at the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, a landform museum of Zhangjiajie, integrating mountains, rivers, and caves. You'll be challenged to walk on the world's highest and longest transparent glass bridge, the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge. The bridge arches about 400 meters above the valley floor and spans a total length of approximately 370 meters. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

   

   After lunch, transfer you to explore the marvelous Yellow Dragon Cave. It boasts the most complete and beautiful landscape on the largest scale. You can admire the towering stalagmites, take a boat to explore the deep underground river - home to second-class state-protected giant salamanders and translucent glass fish - and see the impressive stone waterfall and stone monkeys in various fascinating shapes.

   After the time in the mesmerizing underground palace, we will drive back to your hotel.

4. Day 4: Tianmen Mountain Tour
   Experience the World's Longest Cableway and Marvel at Sandstone Paintings

   Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast. Today we will explore Tianmen Mountain and Junsheng Sandstone Painting Exhibition Center. Tianmen Mountain is famous for Tianmen Cave (which means a gate to the heaven in Chinese). You will take the longest cable car in the world to the top, with a one-way ride taking about 28 minutes. Once at the summit, experience the exciting attractions - Glass Skywalk and the Ghost Valley Plank Road. Both are suspended above the cliffs.

   After the visit, descend to Tianmen Cave, the world's highest natural cave through a mountain. You can conquer the 999 steps and enjoy the wonderful scenery from above. Then, a sightseeing bus will take you down the mountain along the scenic 99 Bend Road.

   Saying goodbye to the mountain, we will go back to downtown for lunch and continue our visit to Junsheng Sandstone Painting Gallery, where we will see a special kind of paintings made from natural sand, stones and plants.

5. Day 5: Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang Ancient Town Tour by Car
   Explore the Historic Town and Enjoy a Relaxing Cruise on Tuojiang River

   We will check out in the morning and drive for about 4 hours to Fenghuang Ancient City. Upon arrival, we will have lunch firstly and then start exploration. Fenghuang Ancient Town was built in 1704 during Kangxi Era of the Qing Dynasty. After 300 years, the town now is a famous national cultural and historical city and enjoys equal fame with Lijiang Ancient City in Yunnan and Pingyao Ancient City in Shanxi.

   In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Tuojiang River, the mother river of the ancient town. You can see the typical stilted buildings on the bank. The houses are hanging in the air and supported by wooden pillars. Then make a stop to admire Wanming Pagoda. Next, we will cruise down to Hongqiao Wind and Rain Bridge. Last, visit Tuojiang Jumping Rock. It is 100 meters long and there are 15 stone piers on which are thick wooden board and tied with iron chains from the bottom of the river. We will walk on it and take beautiful pictures.

   After the tour, your guide will lead you to your hotel. The town is very beautiful at night. You can stroll around the town when all lights are on.

6. Day 6: Departure from Fenghuang

   Morning time is free at your own disposal. Please enjoy your leisure time in the peaceful old town. After lunch, it's time to say goodbye. Your guide and driver will transfer you to Tongren Fenghuang Airport to catch your departure flight. Your 6-day Zhangjiajie Fenghuang tour ends here. Wish you a pleasant journey.
