Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge Tour
   Walk on Air to Admire Breathtaking Canyon Views

   Upon your arrival at Zhangjiajie airport/train station, your local driver and guide will pick you up from the exit gate and then directly start your Zhangjiajie tour to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. The canyon is lush with vegetation, the air is fresh and cool, and the stream is filled with a layer of mist, just like a paradise.

   The most famous attraction here is the Glass Bridge. With a total length of 536 meters and a width of 6 meters, the transparent glass makes people feel as if they are strolling in the clouds, with the abyss under their feet and the magnificent canyon scenery in front of them. It will be an unforgettable experience. After the tour, we will transfer you to the hotel in Wulingyuan area to check in.

2. Day 2: Zhangjiajie Nature Tour
   Explore Towering Peaks, Hike the Lush Golden Whip Stream

   Today's adventure in Zhangjiajie will take you to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. As a 5A national scenic spot, this forest park boasts amazing natural scenery, with more than 3,000 strange peaks shaped like humans, animals, and objects.

   Upon arrival, you will first be led to visit Yellow Stone Village, the largest observation deck in Zhangjiajie, with an altitude of over 1,200 meters. As the saying goes, 'if you don't go to Huangshi Village, you've been to Zhangjiajie in vain'. You will take the cable car directly to the top of the village to enjoy the magnificent natural scenery - cliffs and vast forests. In the early morning or evening, clouds and mist linger, as if in a fairyland.

   

   After that, move on to the 7.5-kilometer-long Golden Whip Stream, the most popular attraction in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Strolling along it (around 2 hours), the air is fresh and you can see strange peaks and lush vegetation. This is a perfect place to get close to nature.

3. Day 3: Zhangjiajie Avatar Tour
   Discover Thrilling Glass Bridge and Cinematic Landscapes

   After breakfast, continue your Zhangjiajie trip to Tianzi Mountain, known as the "King of Peaks and Forests". Here, there are numerous strange peaks and rugged rocks, each one resembling a meticulously crafted work of nature. Stroll along the stone-paved road, and the green trees on both sides provide shade, cool, and comfortable. Walking on the suspension bridge, you can overlook the deep valley, which is thrilling and exciting.

   

   After that, go to explore the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, the setting of Hallelujah Mountain in the famous movie Avatar. It is backed by rocky peaks and mountains and faces the valley. The Bailong Elevator is a highlight. It is the highest outdoor elevator in the world, which takes only 66 seconds to send you to the top of the mountain. The elevator is fully transparent and has a wide view. When you reach the top, you can explore the Back Garden, the Vertigo Terrace, and the First Bridge under the Heaven.

   Finish all the activities, then transfer to your hotel for a good rest.

4. Day 4: Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang Ancient Town Tour
   Explore Vast Caves, Marvel at Stalactites, Sail Underground Rivers

   In the morning, follow your tour guide to explore the typical karst landforms in Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Cave. The cave has a vertical height of 140 meters and is divided into four layers, with a total area equivalent to the size of 14 football fields. It features a variety of cave landscapes, such as stalactites. Tourists can take a boat to travel through the dark river, appreciate the wonders of stalagmites, and visit famous attractions such as the Dragon Palace.

   After that, drive around 3.5-4 hours to Fenghuang Ancient Town and check in at a local hotel.

5. Day 5: Fenghuang to Fanjingshan Tour
   Cruise Scenic Rivers, Admire Ancient Architecture, Immerse in Culture

   Today, you will have an in-depth visit to Fenghuang Ancient Town. It is full of historical charm and ethnic customs, with the Tuojiang River flowing through. After breakfast, the guide will take you on a boat ride along the Tuojiang River.

   Along both sides of the river, there are intricately arranged Diaojiao buildings (traditional dwellings of ethnic minorities such as the Miao, Buyi, Dong, and Tujia). These houses hang in the air and are supported by wooden pillars, bearing witness to the historical changes of the ancient city.

   The boat slowly moves forward, and you can see the Wanming Pagoda, which is an important landmark of the town. Hongqiao Bridge spans the Tuojiao River and connects the two banks of the ancient city. The building on the bridge is quaint and elegant, making it an excellent place for tourists to take photos.

   

   Tuojiang Jumping Rock is another must-see attraction in Fenghuang Ancient City. It is composed of rows of rock pillars, and people can walk across the Tuojiang River by stepping on the rocks.

   Your tour guide will explain the stories behind them to you one by one.

   After the relaxing cruise, you will say goodbye to Fenghuang and head to Jiangkou country (the nearest town to Mount Fanjingshan ) for overnight. The driving lasts around 2 hours, and you can have some rest in the van.

6. Day 6: Mount Fanjingshan Exploration
   Witness Amazing Landscape, Learn about Its Buddhist Culture

   Fanjingshan Mountain, with an altitude of 2,572 meters, is renowned for its magnificent mountain scenery, long Buddhist history, and rich resource of plants and animals. This scenic area was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.

   The main attractions of Mount Fanjingshan are concentrated on the peaks. After receiving the ticket, the tour guide will take you on a shuttle bus to the cable car station. When taking the cable car, you can have a bird's-eye view of Fanjingshan, which is definitely thrilling for both body and soul.

   After getting off the cable car, it takes about 40 minutes on foot to reach Mushroom Stone, which is an incredible masterpiece of nature. As its name suggests, this stone is shaped like a mushroom. The huge quadrate head is supported on a slender column-like body. You will learn from the tour guide that mushroom stones have been standing there firmly for a billion years.

   

   Continue walking toward Golden Summit. When you look up at the top of the mountain, you will find that the path on the steep cliff becomes narrower and narrower. This is a real adventure! After reaching the summit, the roaring sea of clouds is bathed in the pale golden sunlight, quite spectacular.

   Cheng'en Temple is located in Pudu Square and was first built in the Ming Dynasty, helping Fanjingshan Mountain gain the title of one of the "Five Great Buddhist Temples".

   If you have watched videos related to Mount Fanjingshan, you must have seen the shots of the Red Cloud Golden Summit. The giant stone column is deeply in ground, but divided into two parts at the top, which is a masterpiece of nature. A stone bridge connects them.

   After the hike, take the cable car and shuttle bus down the mountain in the same way. The driver will transfer you for 1.5 hours to Tongren City for an overnight stay.

7. Day 7: Tongren Departure

   Be free and easy on your own until the pick-up time for departure. Our driver will meet you at the hotel lobby and transfer you to Tongren Airport/train station to see you off. Your 7-day China tour to Zhangjiajie Fenghuang Fanjingshan comes to a perfect end. Safe travels!
