With the opening of the high-speed railway from Chengdu to Zhenjiangguan (about 1 hour and 45 minutes), a trip to Jiuzhaigou has become more convenient and cheaper.
On this 7-day journey, you will discover the wonders of Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou Valley. Your guide will take you to immerse yourself in the beauty of Jiuzhaigou with azure lakes and cascading waterfalls. After that, explore the unique wonders of Huanglong National Park, including colorful pools and snow-capped mountains. Take the high-speed train back to Chengdu and witness the pandas' natural habitat. Visit Leshan Giant Buddha, a masterpiece of the Tang Dynasty, and stroll through Chengdu's cultural treasures, such as Jinli Ancient Street and Kuanzhai Lane. This itinerary combines natural beauty, cultural experiences and treasured animals.

Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Chengdu Arrival
Welcome to Chengdu, the hometown of giant pandas in China! When you arrive at Chengdu Tianfu Airport, the local driver will pick you up from the exit gate of the airport and transfer you to the local hotel to check in. The rest of the day is free on your own.

The pandas are chewing bamboo - Day 2: Chengdu - Huanglong Jiuzhai Station by high-speed Train
After breakfast at the hotel, your driver will escort you to the train station to take the high-speed train to Huanglong Jiiuzhai Station (ref: C5792/10:29-12:20). Upon arrival, your local guide will pick you up on time and drive you for 2.5 hours to Jiuzhaigou to check in.

- Day 3: Full Day Tour in JiuzhaigouJiuzhaigou Valley
In the morning, meet the local English-speaking guide at the hotel lobby. You will spend the whole day in the breathtaking Jiuzhaigou Valley. This scenic area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserving natural landscapes in their pristine state. Jiuzhaigou is renowned for its Five Wonders: peaks, colorful forests, azure lakes, cascading waterfalls, and Tibetan folk customs. In addition, you can admire unique landforms and rich flora and fauna. A highlight among them is the Nuorilang Waterfall.
The Nuorilang Waterfall, with a height of 24.5 meters and a width of 320 meters, is the widest high-altitude calcified waterfall in China. Rushing water descends from the Nuorilang Group Sea, pouring down from the treetops, creating a powerful flow with a resounding roar echoing through the valleys. During the cold winter months, the waterfall transforms into a massive ice curtain, with numerous ice pillars hanging from the steep cliffs, forming a rare ice crystal world.

- Day 4: Jiuzhaigou - Huanglong - ChengduHuanglong National Park
Today, you are going to explore the gorgeous Huanglong National Park, a masterpiece of great nature. Huanglong is the only well-preserved plateau wetland in China, featuring four wonders: colorful pools, snow-capped mountains, canyons, and forests. It is also home to endangered species and many beautiful landscapes. Huanglong sits at an elevation of 3,305 meters, and you have the option to take a cable car up and walk down, which will help you save much more time and energy.
The Five-Color Ponds are the largest group of colorful pools within the Huanglong Valley, and they hold the record for being the largest and highest-altitude outdoor travertine colorful pond group in the world. The pond embankments are low and scattered, creating an intricate pattern. From a distance, these pools resemble jade plates, and under the sunlight, they exhibit colors of white, purple, blue, and green.
Five-Colored Ponds At the end of the visit, you will be transferred to Huanglong Jiuzhai train station and take high-speed train C5756/18:36-20:21 back to Chengdu.

- Day 5: Chengdu Panda TourChengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, People's Park, Jinli Ancient Street
At around 08:30 am, our tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby, and then your amazing exploration begins!
The first destination will be the exciting Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, renowned for its efforts in the conservation and breeding of the endangered giant pandas native to China. Here, you can explore the living environment of giant pandas, learn about their habits, and witness the feeding process up close. Your guide will take you through the extensive area, share information about giant pandas, and assist you in capturing photos. Additionally, the base houses various specialty shops where you can purchase panda-related souvenirs.
Baby Pandas in Chengdu Giant Panda Base Afterwards, spend a relaxing afternoon at People's Park. Here, you can appreciate various flowers and garden landscapes while immersing yourself in a rich cultural atmosphere. Enjoy a pot of Chinese tea, have a casual chat with friends, and observe locals engaging in various folk activities such as playing mahjong and ear cleaning.
The last stop for the day is Jinli Ancient Street, a quaint commercial street preserving numerous ancient buildings and traditional styles. Lined with many specialty shops, including traditional crafts stores, Sichuan cuisine eateries, and tea houses, you can buy various unique products, savor authentic Sichuan delicacies, and enjoy traditional performances such as Sichuan face-changing opera. In addition, Jinli hosts many folk cultural activities such as paper cutting and sugar painting, allowing visitors to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture firsthand.
After the trip is finished, transfer you back to your hotel.

- Day 6: Leshan Giant Buddha TourLeshan Giant Buddha, Kuanzhai Alley
After breakfast, you will be escorted to Leshan to visit the world's largest stone-carved Buddha statue - the Leshan Giant Buddha. Initiated by a monk to control river floods, the Giant Buddha is seated facing the river, with a total height of 71 meters, making it a masterpiece of the Tang Dynasty. Your guide will lead you to climb the plank road, allowing you to experience the grandeur of the Giant Buddha up close.
Optional Activity: You can take a boat ride along the river for a panoramic view of the Giant Buddha.
Leshan Giant Buddha After the visit, return to Chengdu and take a stroll in Kuanzhai Alley, one of Chengdu's most representative historical neighborhoods. Comprising Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley, and Jing Alley, it consists of three parallel old-style streets and their associated courtyard communities. Walking along the streets, you can still see many well-preserved Qing Dynasty buildings. You can also taste authentic Sichuan snacks and purchase specialty handicrafts.
