7 Days Xian and Xiamen Tour

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Xian Arrival

   After your arrival in Xian, our guide and driver will meet you at airport or train station by holding the board with your name. Then transfer to check in the hotel. Enjoy your free time in the rest of the day.

   Accommodation: Xian

2. Day 2: Xian
   Terracotta Warriors and Horses, City Wall, Bell Tower and Drum Tower Square (Breakfast + Lunch)

   AM: In the morning our guide and driver will meet you in your hotel. After collecting all tourists you will be transferred to Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, the most significant discovery of the 20^th century. Known as “The Eighth Wonders of the World”, the museum shows surprisingly high level in sculpture. On the way to Terracotta Warriors, you will pay a visit to Terracotta Figure’s factory which focuses on the reproduction of Terracotta figures.

   Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

   PM: After lunch, we’ll move on to Xian Ancient City Wall.  The 600 years old City Wall is the most completely preserved and the largest city wall in China. After that you will visit the Bell Tower and Drum Tower Square. And from the back of the Bell Tower you will enter the Muslim Quarter. Many special local products and snacks could be found along this street. At the end of the day tour, you are transferred back to your hotel in Xian.

3. Day 3: Xian
   Big Wild Goose Pagoda, North Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi History Museum, Dumpling Dinner, Tang Dynasty Show (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)

   AM: After hotel breakfast meet you guide and driver at hotel. Then you will be escorted to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The pagoda was originally built in the early Tang Dynasty (618-907) to keep the Buddhist sutra and statues brought from ancient India by Mater Xuanzang. Now the Big Wild Goose Pagoda area is a popular amusement place among local people. Then take a walk on the North Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda to enjoy some pleasant time. If you are lucky, you will see the Music Fountain on the square. And the sculptures on the square reflect local customs in old days.

   Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

   

   PM: After that you will visit Shaanxi History Museum, the must go place for any visitors who like history. The large numbers of relics displayed in the museum will introduce the basic facts of the province’s past. In the evening, you will enjoy the Dumpling Dinner and appreciate the Tang Dynasty Show. The show ends at around 21:00. After the show you will be escorted back to hotel.

4. Day 4: Xian – Xiamen by Flight
   South Putuo Temple, Zhongshan Road (Breakfast + Lunch)

   AM: In the morning you will take the flight to Xiamen. In Xiamen airport you will be met by your local guide and driver.

   Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

   PM: After lunch you will visit South Putuo Temple. The temple was originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and got its first name “Sizhou Temple”. In the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) it was abandoned. In the following Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) the temple was rebuilt and it was preserved till today. If time allows, you will take a walk on Zhongshan Road for sightseeing and local food exploration.

5. Day 5: Xiamen
   Hulishan Fortress, Gulangyu Island (Breakfast + Lunch)

   AM: After hotel pickup we will firstly visit Hulishan Fortress. The fortress was built in late 19^th century when China was threatened by foreign invaders. The special background of the fortress makes it a cultural relics. And the scenic surrounding environment makes it a welcomed place for leisure.

   Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

   PM: Then we will spend the rest of the day to visit Gulangyu Island which stands opposite to Hulishan Fortress in the west. After a 20 minutes ferry, you will set foot on the island and then enjoy your relaxing time. You will visit the largest old villa on the island at Hi Heaven, where you can also enjoy ancient South music performance and traditional puppet show. Shuzhuang Garden will open up a surprising sea view in front of you as you walk amongst its deliberately designed layout with lush plants, corridors, and rock formations. An amazing collection of rare old pianos inside the Piano Museum will walk you through a rough development history of piano.

   When the tour ends, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Xiamen downtown area.

6. Day 6: Xiamen – Nanjing Tulou – Xiamen by Car
   Tianluokeng Tulou, Taxia Village (Breakfast + Lunch)

   AM: At 08:30 meet your guide and driver in hotel lobby. Then board the car and start the tour to Nanjing Tulou. After a 3 hours driving, we will get to our destination. On the way our guide will give you the background information of Tulou in Fujian Province. And it would be a good chance to see country scenery on the way.

   Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

   PM: After arriving we will climb up to a hill to get an overlook of the Tulous here: a square-shaped Tulou (Buyun earth building) is surrounded by three round shape Tulous (Zhenchang earth building, Hechang earth building, Ruiyun earth building). Here is the best place to see the layout of the Tulous and take pictures. Then go down from the hill and have lunch. After lunch you will have an inside visit to the Tulous to see people’s daily life there. After the visiting here you will visit the oldest Tulou – Changyu earth building which was built in the early 14^th century. Though it looks worn out, it stands well till today. The last stop will be Taxia Village for sightseeing. The bridges, rivers, and ancestor memorial temples will show you the attraction of the village from different aspect.

   After the tour, you will be escorted back to hotel in Xiamen downtown area.

7. Day 7: Xiamen Departure (Breakfast)

   At confirmed time, our guide and driver will meet you in hotel. Then transfer to airport / train station for departure.
