China’s Greater Bay Area includes Hong Kong, Macau and several major cities in Guangdong Province. To gain a deeper understanding of the Greater Bay Area, our carefully designed 8-day China tour package will take you to the four cities of Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Macau.

You will start your trip from Hong Kong, the “Pearl of the Orient”. Understand the harmonious integration of Chinese, British, and local cultures by visiting night markets, skylines, fishing villages, beaches, and more. Take the high-speed rail to Guangzhou to discover beautiful cultural treasures that can be traced back over 2200 years.

Adjacent to Hong Kong is Shenzhen, a metropolis that served as a gateway to China’s reform and opening-up since 1979. You will learn about the history of this city at the Shenzhen Museum. Afterwards, take a 1-hour ferry ride to Macau, the final destination of this tour in China. Macau is one of the four major gambling cities in the world. This is a diverse city with many famous world heritage sites. Whether you are a cultural explorer, shopper, history enthusiast, or foodie, this trip is beyond expectations.

  1. So happy to see you on our 8-day Greater Bay Area tour! After arriving at the airport, a local driver has been waiting for you to pick you up. Then, he will escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you.

    You are recommended to visit the Temple Street Night Market on your own in the evening. You'll find many kinds of goods, from fashion accessories and electronics to antiques and Chinese craftworks. Don't forget to test your bargaining skills.

  2. After breakfast, meet your tour guide and driver at your hotel lobby and then they will guide you to Victoria Peak. The highest point in Hong Kong, it offers a panorama of the skyline and the harbour. You will be arranged to ride the Peak Tram to the top.

    Next, you will visit the Hong Kong Museum of History, a good place to glimpse Hong Kong's history and culture. The museum has one underground floor, two floors above ground, and an attic. The underground level mainly displays the local natural environment, the development process from prehistoric times to the Qing Dynasty, and rich folk exhibits. The second floor showcases the history of transformation from a small fishing village to a metropolis.

    In the afternoon, you will be taken explore the Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple. Built in 1921, the temple is dedicated to a Taoist immortal from the Eastern Jin Dynasty, who is said to have been always responsive to requests. It is also dedicated to the main figures of Confucianism and Buddhism, such as Confucius and Guanyin. Every year on the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar, local citizens come here to offer incense and pray for good things.

    Nearby, you can also visit the Nan Lian Garden and Chi Lin Nunnery.

    After the tour, the rest of the afternoon is free for you. You can take a leisurely walk along the famous Avenue of Stars by yourself. It a waterfront promenade. From there, you can see the Victoria Harbour and the city skyline. Also, you can take a ride on the Star Ferry across Victoria Harbor. The Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade is recommended as well.

  3. After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will take you on a tour to the largest island in Hong Kong, Lantau Island. It is nearly twice the size of Hong Kong Island.

    Drive around 1 hour to Tung Chung. Then you will be guided to take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car for 25 minutes to Ngong Ping. This ride is not just a unique way of transportation, but also one of the world's top 10 cable car experiences. On this ride, you will have the best view of Lantau Island, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the Big Buddha, and the ocean below.

    Upon arrival at Ngong Ping Village, pay a visit to Po Lin Monastery. It is a century-old ancient temple known as the Buddhist Kingdom in the Southern Heaven. It has been a popular place for religious practice among locals and visitors for many years. You'll see halls, shrines, gardens, and a scripture library with Chinese architecture and enjoy the Buddhist vegetarian dishes served here.

    Then, go to admire the greatest landmarks of Ngong Ping - Tian Tan Giant Buddha. It is the world's tallest and second largest outdoor seated bronze Buddha, with a height of 34 meters (112 feet). It sits on Muyu Peak of Lantau Mountain. You can hike 268 steps up to the base of the statue and get an amazing view of Lantau Island.

    If you are still up for a walk, take a 20-minute stroll to Wisdom Path. It's a large outdoor group of 38 wooden steles with calligraphy of verses from the Heart Sutra, arranged in the shape of the infinity symbol.

    After lunch, take a bus down to the Tai O Fishing Village, the Venice of the East. It is considered one of the oldest fishing village in Hong Kong. Away from the busy city life, Tai O still retains the life of early Hong Kong. People here make a living by fishing. Explore the village and experience the simplicity of their lifestyle.

    After the visit, you will be transferred back to Tung Chung, and you'll take a drive back to your hotel. This is the end of your 2-day Hong Kong Island tour with Lantau Island.

  4. In the morning, you will be transferred to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station to take a high-speed train for one hour to Guangzhou.

    The first stop of Guangzhou tour is Yuexiu Park, a perfect place for strolling. Here, you will see the Five Goats Sculpture, the symbol of Guangzhou. Nearby, you can see the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. It has a majestic and magnificent appearance. Your private guide will tell you about the founding father of modern China, Dr. Sun's great contribution to the country.

    Continue your historical Guangzhou tour to Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King. Discovered in 1983, it has a well-preserved chamber with a large collection of rare treasures. You will see China's earliest imperial seals, the world's earliest silk printing and dyeing tools, and more than 300 pieces of jade carvings and bronzes.

    After that, take you to visit the largest square in Guangzhou - Huacheng Square. There are over 600 large and ancient trees. You can enjoy the landmark - Canton Tower and the modern cityscape. At the end of each year, it hosts the International Light Festival, which is one of the world's top three light festivals, along with those in France and Sydney. After the tour, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Guangzhou.

  5. In the morning, your will be taken to explore the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall for a deeper dive into Guangdong's cultural heritage. It is a well-preserved and representative folk building of the late Qing Dynasty (1616-1912). You will enjoy a large number of exquisite wood and stone sculptures here. Apart from that, the scenic spot also displays art exhibitions and photo exhibitions.

    Afterwards, drive you to Shamian Island, featuring 19th-century European style architecture such as Baroque, Gothic, and Classical. Leisurely stroll along the tree-lined streets on the island. Following that, you will enjoy a delectable Cantonese lunch.

    In the afternoon, take a high-speed train to Shenzhen. Upon arrival, a local driver will meet you at the train station and transfer you to your hotel in Shenzhen.

  6. After breakfast, your Shenzhen guide will meet you at the hotel and then transfer you to Ping'an Finance Center, with a total height of 599.1 meters. You will go up to the 116th floor observation deck overlooking the whole Shenzhen. After that, go to Shenzhen Museum. There are 23,447 pieces (sets) of collections, including 5,435 pieces (sets) of precious relics. You will be guided to visit the Historical Folk Museum, Ancient Art Museum, the former site of Dongjiang Guerrilla Command and the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Exhibition Hall.

    Next, head to DJI Flagship Store in OCT Harbor, where you enjoy a wonderful drone show. You will also have a chance to experience the aerial photography equipment.

    After lunch, visit the Chinese Folk Culture Village. This will be an immersive cultural experience. Here are 27 villages in the park, where you can see performances and learn about the traditional handicrafts and residences of various ethnic groups. After the tour, you'll be escorted to your hotel in Shenzhen for check-in.

  7. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Ferry Terminal to take a ferry to Macau. It takes around 70 to 80 minutes. Upon arrival, your Macau tour leads you to the Ruins of the St. Paul Cathedral, the most famous landmark. The UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the largest church in Asia and a component of the Jesuit College of St. Paul

    From there, walk for about 10 minutes to reach Senado Square. Commonly known as the Fountain, it is one of the four major squares in Macau. As the center of Macau, many festivals and celebrations are held here.

    Continue your Macau tour to A-Ma Temple, the oldest temple in Macau constructed in 1488. It has been standing since before the city came to existence. There are a number of pavilions and halls in ancient Chinese architectural style. You will learn about the rich history of Macau and how much it has developed. Last, go to see the Border Gate.It is the border between Macau and Chinese mainland.

    If you are interested, you can visit one of the famous casinos in Macau (minimum 21 years old). At the end of the tour, your guide will take you to check in at your Macau hotel.

  8. Today is the last day of your 8 days China tour of Greater Bay Area. After a leisurely morning, your driver will escort you to the ferry terminal and take a ferry to Hong Kong Airport.
