8 Days Beijing-Xian-Guilin Discovery Tour (No Shopping)

On the vast land of China, one will find lots of historical relics. And one could meet lots of heart-catching sceneries. In this 8 days China small group tour, you will learn about the historical and cultural relics in Beijing and Xian, then enjoy some totally relaxing days in Guilin to appreciate the charming landscape and natural scenery there.
Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Beijing Arrival (No meal)
Upon your arrival in Beijing, the local driver will wait for you holding a board with your name at the arrival hall. The pick up location can also be Beijing Train Station or Beijing Railway Station. After getting on the comfortable car/coach, you will be transferred to your Beijing downtown hotel to check in. The rest day is free for you.

- Day 2: BeijingMutianyu Great Wall, Temple of Heaven (Breakfast + Lunch)
AM: Picked up by our English speaking guide and driver from hotel lobby at 8:30 am, and then drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful surroundings – dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of a year. If you want to reach the highest point, cable car is a good choice (optional); shuttle bus is also optional for you to save energy and time.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After lunch, head to Temple of Heaven, the largest ancient imperial worship architecture complex in the world where the ancient emperors prayed for peace and harvest. After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel around 6:00 pm.

Mutianyu Great Wall - Day 3: Beijing - Xian by Overnight TrainTian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace (Breakfast + Lunch)
AM: In the morning, meet the guide and driver from hotel lobby and lead you to start today’s tour. Today’s schedule starts with Tian’anmen Square. From there you will proceed to the Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palaces group with 500 years’ history in the world. Walk across the street, you will come to Jingshan Park. Located in the north of the forbidden City, it is an imperial garden of Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: Then head to Today’s last stop is Summer Palace, the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden. It is regarded as a museum of gardens in China. If you would like to experience the boat ride, please just pay for it on spot. After the tour, you will be directly sent to train station for an over night train to Xian. (Suggested: Z19/20:40-08:31+1)

Forbidden City - Day 4: XianTerracotta Warriors, Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Xian Museum, Xian Museum, Dumpling Dinner, Tang Dynasty Show (Lunch + Dumpling Dinner)
AM: When you arrive to Xian train station, our Xian local guide will hold a name board to pick you up from the exit. You will directly start the most highlight part of Xian tour today—Terracotta Warriors which locates at east suburb of Xian. Known as “the eighth Wonder of the world”, the museum shows a surprisingly high level in sculpture, which is the most significant discovery in the 20th century. You will spend about 2.5-3 hours here.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After lunch, you will come back to downtown to visit some other famous sites: Small Wild Goose Pagoda and Xian Museum. Small Wild Goose Pagoda is also a landmark of Xian, built in Tang Dynasty to store Buddhist sculptures brought from Xuanzang from ancient India, together with Big Wild Goose Pagoda. You will also pay a visit to Xian Museum where you will appreciate some priceless exhibition to learn history and culture of ancient Xian and even China. Then you can go to hotel for check-in and have a short rest.
Around 6pm, you will go for a Dumpling Dinner and Tang Dynasty Show to make you a beautiful night. Finally, our driver will send you back to your hotel.

Terracotta Warriors and Horses - Day 5: Xian - Guilin by FLightBig Wild Goose Pagoda, City Wall, Bell and Drum Tower Square & Muslim Quarter (Breakfast + Lunch)
AM: After hotel breakfast, you will meet our guide at hotel lobby and start a city tour in Xian. The first stop is Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a symbol of this old city. It was built for the similar function of Small Wild Goose Pagoda but has earned large fame than it. You will learn lots of Buddhism culture and history in China here. Next, head to City Wall which functioned as military defense in ancient time. It’s the best preserved city wall in China.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: Continue to explore the interesting Bell and Drum Tower Square & Muslim Quarter to find authentic local snacks and handy-crafts.
Finally, you will be transferred to airport for your flights to Guilin. Our Guilin driver will wait for you at the arrival hall by holding a sign with your name and transfer you to your hotel to check in.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Day 6: GuilinLi River Cruise, West Street (Breakfast + Lunch)
AM: Today is the highlight of your Guilin tour as you will embark on a ship to cruise down the picturesque Li River! Taking the cruise on the Li River, you will admire the picturesque scenery of this land with a harmonious combination of the green hills, rivers, lakes and fields. But its beauty is not like a still painting, it’s alive when vivid – brisk bamboo rafts leaving wrinkles on the water and cormorants hovering under the working fishermen… Our guide will uncover the hidden history and culture behind the natural screen before you during your cruise. You will learn from the local expert about how the city formed and developed and how local people manage their life along the famous Li River.
Friendly Tips: The Li River Cruise takes around 4 hours, and you will be staying on the boat to enjoy the scenery for most time, so 3-star boat as included would be adequate according to most tourists’ experience. Besides, you are suggested to have a good breakfast at your hotel and take some snack as there will be only simple box lunch be provided on the boat.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After the 4 hours’ cruise, you will disembark at Yangshuo. Follow your guide to explore the famous Yangshuo West Street to admire the antique buildings and local crafts, hanging out in bars and coffee shops, and try some delicious local snacks.
Finally, you will be transferred back to your Guilin Hotel.

Li River Cruise - Day 7: GuilinLongji Terrace Field (Breakfast + Lunch)
AM: In the morning meet the guide and driver in your Guilin downtown hotel around 8am, then we will head to famous Longji Terrace Field. The driving usually takes about 2 hours so we will get to the terrace field at around 11:00. The Longsheng Terraced Rice Fields were first built and cultivated in Yuan Dynasty by Zhuang and Yao minority people, and now the area is still being used by the Zhuang and Yao villagers. The rice terraces are built on the mountain slope and wind its way around the hillsides. The Longji terraced fields is a highlight in one’s Guilin tour and one of the 12 top class scenic spots in Guangxi Province. You will also pay a visit to the local Zhuang village to learn the local culture and folk customs here.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After the tour, you’ll be transferred back to your Guilin downtown hotel at about 5:00 pm.

Longji Rice Terraces - Day 8: Guilin DepartureElephant Trunk Hil, Fubo Hill, Seven Star Park, Reed Flute Cave (Breakfast + Lunch)
AM: In the morning, our local guide & driver will pick you up from hotel lobby and then start today’s adventure.You will visit famous Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin City. Fubo Hill which towers in the river. Climbing up to the hill top you will have a overlook of Guilin City. And Seven Star Park, the best park in Guilin City where you will appreciate a great work including hills, rivers, courtyards, architecture, and cultural relics.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: You will also visit the famous Reed Flute Cave, one of the top famous Karst Caves in China. Finally, you will be dropped off at the airport or train station for your departure. Your 8-day Beijing Xian Guilin Tour ends here.
