5 Days Beijing Group Tour with Badaling Great Wall

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Beijing Arrival

   So happy to have you on our 5-day Beijing small group tour! Upon your arrival at Beijing airport / train station, our driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name. Drive around 1 hour to Beijing downtown hotel for your check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the capital city.

2. Day 2: Beijing Great Wall Hiking Tour
   Appreciate the Beautiful Scenery of Badaling While Hiking

   In the morning (7:00-8:00), the guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby (if your hotel is beyond the 3rd ring road of Beijing city, please go to the appointed downtown place to meet the group). The first stop is the Badaling Great Wall, the most popular and accessible section of all the 5 sections in Beijing. The cable car is available and optional if you want to save time and get to the peak to have a bird's-eye view of the Great Wall (cost on your own).

   Lunch will be included in the tour and you will pay a short visit to the Beijing Jade Factory. The jade carving is a very famous special local product with a long history of Chinese traditional culture, you will opportunity to purchase some fine products here.

   After that, we drive to the underground palace of Dingling (one of the 13 Ming Dynasty Imperial Mausoleums). Dingling is the tomb of Emperor Shenzong, Zhuyijun, who reigned the nation for 48 years as the longest-serving monarch among all Ming emperors. We will stay about 1 hour here.

   Finishing the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

3. Day 3: Beijing City Tour
   Explore Royal History in the Forbidden City

   At 07:00 - 8:00 in the morning, your guided Beijing group tour leads you to visit the famous Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Located in the city center, the square is one of the largest city squares in the world. It is a sacred site for major celebrations, grand gatherings, and foreign affairs receptions in China. After a short sightseeing at Tiananmen Square, walk across the Golden Water Bridge and come to the splendid Forbidden City built 600 years ago, where you will be impressed by the gorgeous imperial palaces and vast storage of historical relics.

   

   After lunch, continue your group tour in Beijing to the Temple of Heaven, a magnificent imperial architectural complex built in 1420. The emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties held important religious ceremonies here. The Temple of Heaven is protected by two altar walls, divided into an inner altar and an outer altar. You will mainly visit the inner altar, showcasing numerous ancient buildings. One of the highlights is the Prayer for Good Harvest Hall, which has blue tiles and a golden roof, designated for the emperor to pray for a bountiful harvest during the first lunar month.

   Today you will also enjoy traditional Chinese tea. After the sightseeing, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

4. Day 4: Beijing Panda Tour
   See Lovely Pandas and Enjoy a Relaxing Afternoon in Summer Palace

   After meeting the group, you will be taken to visit the Beijing Zoo for its Panda House where you will visit the lovely pandas and learn the knowledge of their habits from our tour guide. After that, head to the largest Lama Temple in Beijing - Yonghe Temple (also called Lama Temple), the birthplace of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. In the middle and late period of the Qing dynasty, it was transformed into a Buddhist temple with the highest level throughout the country.

   After lunch, have a short visit to a Pearl Factory. Next, go to a royal garden composed of lakes, hills, and pavilions - the Summer Palace. You can take a leisurely walk along the lake and climb Longevity Hill to overlook the entire Summer Palace and its beautiful scenery. If you are interested, you can consider taking a boat tour on Kunming Lake to gain a unique perspective. After the tour, return to your hotel.

5. Day 5: Beijing Departure
