5 Days Beijing Group Tour with Mutianyu Great Wall

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Beijing Arrival

   You will be met by our driver at Beijing airport/train station with holding a welcome signboard on which says your name and transfer to your hotel(booked by yourself).

2. Day 2: Beijing
   Mutianyu Great Wall

   AM: Around 6:00-7:00, our English speaking tour guide and driver will pick you up from the downtown hotel ( if your hotel is beyond the second ring road of Beijing city, please come to the appointed meeting place to meet the guide and driver ).

   After 2 hours’ driving, you will get to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall is located about 70 km from downtown Beijing. The Mutianyu Great Wall was firstly built in the beginning of the Ming Dynasty. The famous general, Xu Da, of the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) supervised and directed the construction of the Great Wall on the base of great wall built in earlier periods. Follow the explanation and instruction from the expert guide to freely hike on the Great Wall and apprecaite the amazing scenery around.

   Noon: Lunch on your own.

   PM: Meet the guide at the appointed place after your visiting and return to hotel.

   

3. Day 3: Beijing
   Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace (Lunch)

   AM: Between 7:00-8:00 am, our guide and driver will greet you at your hotel in Beijing downtown area. First we drive to Tiananmen Square, the heart and symbol of Beijing and the largest city square in the world. The spacious square has been used for many public celebrations, ceremonies, and demonstrations for over a hundred years. Next you will pay a visit to Forbidden City, one of the largest and most completely preserved palace complex built of wood. It functioned as the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912). There were 24 emperors of the two dynasties once lived here.

   Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

   PM: After lunch, we will go to Temple of Heaven. Located at southern part of Beijing, it serviced as a complex of sacrificial building where emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties prayed for peace and harvest. Today’s last scenic site will be Summer Palace. It is located at the west skirt of Beijing and covers an area of 290 hectares. In the Qing Dynasty during the Qianlong Era, the Summer Palace was built by imitating the layout of the West Lake in Hangzhou. Now it is the largest and most completely preserved imperial garden in China.

   Notice: Today you will also pay visit to the Chinese Herb Medicine shop (about 45 mins) and to Pearl Factory (about 45 mins). There are opportunities to learn the Chinese Traditional Medicine culture, pearl arts and also purchase fine prodcuts here.

   Finally, you will be transfered back to your hotel.

   

4. Day 4: Beijing
   Beijing Zoo, Yonghe Temple, Beijing Hutong, Bird’s Nest, Water Cube (Lunch)

   AM: Meet tour guide at your hotel between 7:00am and 8:30am, and then go to Beijing Zoo where you can see the lovely Giant Pandas(40 minutes). Then take you to Yonghe Temple – the largest Lama Temple inBeijing. The 1 hour mysterious Tibet style Buddhism temple tour finishes at about 11:00.

   Noon: You will be arranged to have lunch with locals in a typical Beijing resident’s house.

   PM: Then visit the old Beijing Hutong by taking rickshaws(2 hours). You can also have the chance to enjoy the porcelain factory, which is also a must in ancient Beijing tour. We will stop at the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube for 45 minutes. If you are interested in the inner structure of the stadiums, the tour guide will assist you in buying the tickets, and you could enter in the stadiums for a visit yourself. And then we will drive back to hotels.

   On the way to your hotels, we also arrange the short visit to a China Tea House to enjoy tea ceremony.

   

5. Day 5: Beijing Departure

   At the confirmed time, our driver will pick you up from the hotel lobby and transfer you to Beijing Airport/train station for your departure.Your 5 Days Beijing Group Tour with Mutianyu Great Wall ends here.
