2 Days Chongqing Tour with Wulong Karst Geological Park

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Chongqing City Tour
   Experience Ancient Culture, Scenic Park & Vibrant Nightlife

   Welcome to the "Mountain City", Chongqing, one of China's most dynamic and vibrant cities! Your guide and driver will pick you up at the airport or train station, holding a welcome sign. Then, this guided 2-day Chongqing tour begins. The first stop will be the Ciqikou Ancient Town, one of the must-see attractions in Chongqing, whose history dates back to more than 1700 years ago. Most of the houses here were built during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasties (1616-1911). Walking through the ancient streets, you will be amazed at the rich activities such as Sichuan Opera, oil making, and noodle making, which hide local culture, folklore, and religious culture.

   Then, return to downtown Chongqing to explore E'ling Park. It was built as a private garden for his father by a wealthy Chongqing merchant in the late Qing Dynasty, and was officially named E'ling Park in 1958 and opened to visitors. The S-shaped Stone Rope Bridge is one of the park's iconic attractions. The stone parapet looks like two thick and curved ropes, so it is called Rope Bridge. E'ling Park is well worth visiting with its ancient trees and dense bamboo forest.

   

   Afterwards, you will be transferred to have a distant view of the Liziba Station of Chongqing Light Rail, the first station in China to pass through tall buildings. The combination of the skyscrapers and the LRT line creates a unique cityscape. Your guide will take you to the best viewing area. After the tour, we go down to Jiefangbei, one of the iconic buildings of Chongqing. Jiefangbei records the history and culture of Chongqing.

   Finally, we visit Hongya Cave, the highlight of today's Chongqing tour! There are densely packed stilted buildings with restaurants, snack streets, bars, cafes, and local specialty shops. From the viewing platform on the top floor, one can see the scenery of the confluence of the two rivers from afar.

2. Day 2: Chongqing Side Trip to Wulong Karst National Park
   Natural Karst Landscape, Alpine Scenery, and Outdoor Adventures Await

   After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive around 3 hours to Wulong Karst National Geological Park in Wulong County. When we arrive at the park, you will be guided to board a sightseeing bus to the first highlight - Three Natural Bridges. The scenic area is famous for 3 magnificent stone arch bridges, namely Tianlong (Sky Dragon) Bridge, Qinglong (Celeste Dragon) Bridge and Heilong (Black Dragon) Bridge. They are the largest group of natural bridges in Asia, created by magical nature. You can stroll along the narrow path and immerse yourself in the beauty of the valley.

   

   Then, our Wulong tour continues to another highlight - Fairy Mountain National Forest Park. With an average elevation of 1,900 meters, it is known as the "Eastern Switzerland" with its unique charm of the alpine grasslands, rare forests and snowy plains, green and beautiful jungle and wild landscape. The average temperature of Fairy Mountain is 15 Celsius degree lower than the main city of Chongqing, which enjoys the reputation of "Summer Palace of Mountain City".

   Travel Tip: Visitors can experience various activities such as kite flying, paragliding and horseback riding (at their own expense).
