At 8:00 or 13:00, our driver and English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel in the Beijing downtown area. Then you will be escorted to visit Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City.
Tiananmen Square is the heart and symbol of Beijing and is the largest city square in the world. The spacious square has been used for many public celebrations, ceremonies, and demonstrations for over a hundred years. The Founding Ceremony of PRC was also held here on Oct 1st, 1949. The National Flag raising in the early morning and lowering in the late afternoon are the most solemn daily ceremonies on the square.
The Forbidden City, aka the Palace Museum, is one of the largest and most completely preserved palace complexes in the world. It functioned as the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912). 24 emperors of the two dynasties who once lived here. There are nearly 9,000 rooms, and your guide will take you to visit some important sites and tell you stories about what happened here. It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1987.
After the visit, the Forbidden City tour in Beijing ends here and you will be escorted back to your hotel.
