Get to Kangding from Chengdu
Chengdu is the major gateway to Kangding and other travel destinations in west Sichuan.
- Fly from Chengdu to Kangding: Kangding Airport is the nearest airport to Kangding, which is about 38 kilometers from the city center. The airport operates one flight to/from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport each day. Also, it operates one flight to/from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport on each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
- Long-distance bus from Chengdu to Kangding: You can take a bus from either the Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Stop or Chadianzi Bus Stop to reach Kangding Bus Stop directly. The ride will take about 6-7 hours one way.
- Train + Bus Combination: Currently, there are no direct trains to Kangding. But, you can take a high-speed train to Ya’an Railway Station first, then transfer a bus from Ya’an to Kangding. This option is more time-saving, taking about 4.5 hours.
