By train: Kunming has three railway stations, namely Kunming Railway Station, Kunming South Railway Station, and Kunming North Railway Station. If you find yourself in a major city in Yunan, take a train to Kunming. It takes about 2 hours from Dali, 4 hours from Lijiang, 3.5 hours from Xishuangbanna, and 5 hours from Shangri-la to Kunming.
How to Get around Kunming
By metro: Kunming has six Rail Transit Lines in total, providing visitors a convenient travel in Kunming without traffic jams. You can take RT Line 3 to Western Hills, RT Line 1 or 2 to Yunnan Provincial Museum, and RT Line 5 to Haihong Wetland.
By bus: The bus transportation in Kunming is well-developed and they can reach almost every tourist attraction in Kunming. You can take Bus No. 99 to Stone Forest, Bus No. 1 to Green Lake Park, Bus No. 94 and K50 to Dianchi Lake, and Bus C85 to Guandu Ancient Town.
