This 3.5-hour Xian morning tour will show you another side of Xian and bring you to some places the locals really like. Hang around the food market at the East Gate of City Wall to see the locals picking vegetables, take a walk on the top of the magnificent City Wall to feel the charm of this ancient capital, participate in morning exercises at lively City Wall Park, try yummy snacks at Yongxingfang Food Street, and may get some little things at an antique market to take home.

Start your exploration of Xian at approximately 08:00 as our local guide greets you at your downtown hotel. Ensure your comfort for the day ahead by wearing suitable shoes and traveling light, as we’ll be covering a substantial distance on foot. Opt for a public bus or metro ride to reach the City Wall, and our initial destination is the vibrant food market at the East Gate. Here, a myriad of street stands presents a sensory panorama, offering an array of fresh meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, spices, soy sauce, and more – a delightful introduction to the local culinary scene and a lively cultural experience.
Proceed to ascend the Ancient City Wall, a venerable structure dating back over 600 years, recognized as one of the world’s largest and impeccably preserved ancient military defense systems. This architectural marvel serves as a rich resource for studying Ming Dynasty history, military science, and architecture. Optionally, indulge in a unique experience by biking along the wall’s summit. Upon descending, venture into the City Wall Park for a stroll, immersing yourself in the local scene. Our final destination of your morning tour in Xian is the Zhuque Antique Market, a haven for enthusiasts of antiques, offering an eclectic array of treasures including porcelain wares, jade items, calligraphy pieces, paintings, books, and ancient coins.
