Mt. Everest stands at the Tingri County of Shigatse Prefecture, on the border line of China and Nepal, shared the South Slope by Nepal and the North Slope with China. With the height of 8848.43m, Mt. The Everest Base Camp is a hot destination for travelers to trek to behold the fabulous sights of the highest peak on the earth which stands as the Pyramid, taking a golden hue and glittered like gems. As for the Rongbuk Monastery, it is the highest monastery on the world, at the foot of the Everest Peak, belonging to the Nyingmapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The flag like clouds witnessed above the Everest Peak is a special views created by the miraculous nature. The flag like clods are generated from the convective cumulus, floating above the peak like fluttering flags, hence the name.

Climate
The area of the Everest Peak and its side peaks has a quite complicated climate due to its special geographical, showing as the changing weather unpredictably in a day, let alone in a year. However, there is a rough law about the weather condition here to guide you to plan your tour at the Everest Base Camp.
Generally, it has its wet season from June to middle September when the area is controlled by the frequent heavy rain or snow, thick clouds and dense fog. From middle November to the middle February, it is in the coldest time of the whole year with much wind. Time from March to May is the transition spring from the windy season to the rainy season while during September to the late October the rains ends and winds starts when the Everest Peak area welcomes its best time to travel for human—no too much rain or wind, not to cold or dry or wet.
Transportation
The Everest Base Camp is at borderline about 100km south of China Nepal Friendship Highway. The highly recommended way to reach this site is to rent a private car (we TibetDiscoveryTour could arrange the transportation well for you at the best price) as there is little public transportation way to go through deeply in this area. The car running on the Friendship Highway departed to the destination need to be charged with highway construction fee at CNY100 for per wheel, so usually one car will cost CNY400 in total.
Accommodation
Around the EBC, Rongbuk Monastery is the only place to offer accommodation where is a good place to witness the grand views of the twilight Everest Peak. There is a small restaurant outside of this monastery providing meals for visitors, not being much delicious but quite expensive.
Before really reaching the EBC, there is a hostel named The Everest Peak Hotel (Zhu Feng Hotel) nearer to the destination than the Rongbuk Monastery.
Tent area is one more option for the accommodation which is easier to come to EBC for the sunrise at the great Peak. There is about 4 km distance from the tent area to the EBC, needing people to walk for about 1 hour or take coach at CNY50 for two people’s round way transfer.

Private vehicles into the attraction site would be charged with the entrance fee: CNY605 for the large van per time, CNY405 for the car per time
The environmentally friendly vehicle with route from Rongbuk Monastery to the EBC (about 8km) cost CNY25 per person.
