AM: At 09:00 our guide and driver will greet you in your hotel lobby by holding the board with your name. After hotel pickup we will firstly pay a visit to one of the ancient China’s greatest engineering projects – Grand Canal. You will take a Chinese style wooden boat to cruise down the canal to enjoy the scenery on the way till your arrival at the center of the Old Suzhou City. During the cruise, you will pass by the Panmen Gate which was originally built in 1351 in the Yuan Dynasty.
Noon: Lunch at local restaurant.
PM: Then you will get off the boat and take a walk in along Pingjiang Road and surrounding areas in Old City Area. During your walking, you will meet the well preserved old style folk houses, shops, the zigzag narrow canals, the local vegetable market, etc. At last, you will make a stop at a local tea house to try the most important Chinese drink – tea. At the same time you will appreciate the city’s most famous art-form: Pingtan.
After the tour, you will be escorted back to hotel at around 17:00.
