In the morning, your private guide will meet your at your downtown hotel and then start your classic Shanghai day trip at the must-see Yuyuan Garden. As a renowned classical garden in southern Yangtze, Yu Garden, built in the Ming Dynasty, was originally a private garden for the owner’s father to enjoy his old age in peace. Now, visitors to Yu Garden can appreciate the natural beauty of Jiangnan gardens.

Nearby is the Yuyuan Market, where there are various kinds of things to choose from, such as food, jewelry, handicrafts, souvenirs, and so on.

Next, go to explore Shanghai Old Street, formerly Fangbang Zhonglu. Through the architectural style and business layout, you will learn about the evolution of old Shanghai.

After lunch, continue to visit the hundreds-year-old Jade Buddha Temple, located on Anyuan Road, first built in 1882. It houses two jade Buddha statues brought back from Myanmar by Huigen Monk. The temple, with its elegant Song Dynasty-style architecture, shows Buddhist art and culture.

Afterward, take a walk on Nanjing Road, Shanghai’s famous shopping street, which stretches 5.5 km from the Bund to Jing’an Temple. Known for its diverse shops, historic buildings, and vibrant atmosphere, it attracts millions of visitors annually.

Then you will be transferred to Xintiandi, a transformed Shikumen longtang (local lane) of old Shanghai. It’s now a popular mall integrating fashion, leisure, culture, dining, and shopping.

Finally, conclude the one-day Shanghai tour by getting a bird’s-eye view of the Huangpu River from the Observation Deck of Shanghai Tower which is the tallest skyscraper in China. Drive back to your hotel after the sightseeing.
