Shanghai Highlight Day Tour

AM: Our guide will meet you in your hotel lobby in Shanghai and then start the one-day tour with Yuyuan Garden which was finished in 1577 by a government officer of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) named Pan Yunduan. The garden was specially built for Pan’s parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age.

After visiting the pretty Yuyuan Garden, you will wander around the lively Yuyuan Market. You can get everything here from traditional Chinese crafts like chopsticks, fans, and pottery to local delicacies such as steamed buns, crab shell cake, and pork chop with rice cakes. Don’t forget to haggle for a better price.

Then pay a visit to Shanghai Old Street. The old street, formerly known as Fangbang Zhonglu, the architectural style and business layout there show the historical and cultural evolution of old Shanghai from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the fusion of Western culture. The business of the whole street takes the traditional characteristic industry as the mainstream, highlights the traditional folk culture, and creates the atmosphere of Shanghai culture.

Noon: Lunch in a local restaurant.

PM: After lunch, we move to visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in the Pudong District which is the tallest TV tower in Asia and a symbol of modern Shanghai due to its unique style and height. You will take a birds-eye view of the fabulous Shanghai City on the transparent glass floor. The Bund is one of the most famous landmarks in Shanghai. Standing on the bank of the Huangpu River, the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism, and Renaissance are a symbol of Shanghai’s past.

In the evening, take a relaxing Huangpu River night cruise to enjoy the spectacular scenery on the bank. Huangpu River separates Shanghai into two parts, Pudong and Puxi. Cruising on the river will give you an unparalleled view of the city’s skyline and an unforgettable traveling experience.
