Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Xiamen Arrival & Xiamen Tour
   South Putuo Temple; Wanshi Botanical Garden

   Welcome to our 3 days Xiamen tour! Please make your own way to Xiamen and arrive at Xiamen Gaoqi Airport between 10 am-11:00 am.

   Upon your arrival at the airport, the local English-speaking guide and driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name. After collecting all passengers at the airport, you will start the exploration.

   You will be accompanied to the South Putuo Temple which is just a stone's throw away from the Xiamen University. Firstly built in the Tang Dynasty, this is a 1000 years old temple drawing many tourists to pray for health and wealth. The many Buddha halls here are in typical Southern Chinese architecture style with outstanding brackets, intricate roofs, overhanging eaves, angled cornices, etc.

   Then, continue your visit to Wanshi Botanical Garden, a beautiful botanical garden houses over 7000 species of plants and various rock landscapes.

   Last, transfer to a local hotel for overnight.

2. Day 2: Yongding Tulou Tour
   Hongkeng Tulou Complex, Zhencheng Lou, Fuyu Tulou; Kuiju Tulou
   After the hotel breakfast, drive around 2.5 hours to Yongding and visit Hongkeng Tulou Complex.  With scores of Tulou buildings scattered along the Hongkeng River, a visit here will offer you the most various Tulou buildings of different scales, styles, shapes, and dates. Your expert guide will lead you to visit some of its best.

   1 km away from the entrance gate is the eye-catching Zhencheng Lou, one of the largest and best-preserved Tulou buildings in Hongkeng. It is a double ring Tulou with the outer ring in 4 storey and inner ring in 2 storey. It is still an inhabited building where you will come across a combination of Greek-style decorations and traditional Chinese garden style and Bagua layout. One of the most renowned five-phoenix-style Tulou buildings, Fuyu Tulou features its Chinese-style halls with overhanging eaves, large sloped roofs, excellent carvings, and decoration.

   Kuiju Tulou is a layered square building built in the Potala Palace style. Besides the architecture style, it also highlights the valuable sculptures, and colored paintings of vivid birds, pavilions, figures.

3. Day 3: Xiamen Tour & Xiamen Departure
   Gulangyu Island, the Hi Heaven (Hai Tian Tang Gou), Huandao Road; Shapowei Art Zone
   On the agenda today is an exploration of Gulangyu Island. After a 20 minutes ferry, you will set foot on one of the most scenic places in Xiamen, even Fujian Province. What waiting for you is a series of colonial-style buildings, relic sites of embassies, mansions, villas, and museums narrating the historical stories of this little islet.

   

   Roam along the shady serpentine alleys, you will encounter the Hi Heaven (Hai Tian Tang Gou) which is the largest among all the old villas on Gulangyu. It stands out from other exotic buildings for combining the Chinese and Western-style. Walk into the famous Shuzhuang Garden to uncover the inner layout and decorations of a classic Chinese garden. You can expect a visual feast with lush trees, flowering plants, rock formations, delicate pavilions with flying eaves, corridors, gardens, and ponds. The Piano Museum in the garden will bring you into the world of nearly 100 precious pianos.

   In the afternoon, drive along Huandao Road (Island Ring Road) to seek the tropical feel. A scenic coastal road, Huandao Road will excite your eyes with clean beaches, fishing villages, greenish trees, and nice seaside scenery from the Yanwu Bridge. Then, head to the Shapowei Art Zone and be introduced to genuine local culture, street art, and popular entertainment. At the end of the 3 days Xiamen tour, your driver will escort you to the airport for departure. Note: Please depart Xiamen airport after 6 pm.
