Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Guiyang Arrival
Welcome to Guiyang! Once you arrive at Guiyang Longdongbao Airport, our local driver will pick you up and escorted you to check in at the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day yourself.
Overnight in Guiyang
- Day 2: Guiyang-ZiyunGetu River National Park & Great Arch of Getu
After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to visit Getu River National Park, a peaceful and picturesque karst natural park. If you are lucky, you will encounter “Spider Men (local Miao residents)” climbing easily through cliffs with rare hands and no protective measures. You can experience rock climbing if you like. (optional, at your own expense)
After hiking through Great Arch of Getu, you will ride a sightseeing boat to admire the karst landscape at leisure and witness the mysterious hanging coffins in the caves (a kind of local ancient burial culture).
Overnight in Ziyun
Getu River National Park - Day 3: Ziyun-XingyiZhongdong Miao Village
After breakfast, head to Zhongdong Miao Village which is entitled as “China’s last cave village”. All the dwellings here are built in the karst cave with no roof, being warm in winter and cool in summer. So the 18 Miao families still insist to live in the cave, though local government has established the new village for them. In the afternoon, drive to Xingyi.

Zhongdong Miao Village - Day 4: Malinghe Canyon-WanfenglinMalinghe Canyon & Wanfenglin (Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks)
Start today with a visit to Malinghe Canyon which is praised as “the most beautiful scar on earth”. During the 2.5 hours hiking, you will absorb into the alluring views with lush, subtropical plants, winding river and a lot of cascades.
Enjoy your afternoon at Wanfenglin (Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks) - a famous karst geopark composed of numerous karst peaks of various shapes: array, sword, dragon, arhat, and piled up hats. It was listed as one of the six most beautiful peak forests in China by the China Geography Magazine. West Peak Forest is its main visiting area where towering peaks are surrounded by green fields, winding rivers, verdant forests and quaint villages.
Overnight in Xingyi
Wanfenglin, aka Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks - Day 5: Xingyi-Huangguoshu Waterfall-AnshunHuangguoshu Waterfall & 24-Zig Road
This morning, embark on the trip to Huangguoshu Waterfall. On the way, you will visit the 24-Zig Road in Qinglong - a spectacular winding mountain road. Built during WWII, this road was the only land channel to transport supplies to Chongqing in that time.
In the afternoon, head to the Tianxingqiao Scenic Area, about 7 km away from the downstream of Huangguoshu Waterfall. In contrast to the grand and magnificent Huangguoshu Waterfall, Tianxingqiao is mysterious and exquisite, scattered with weird limestone formations, caves, waterfalls, lakes, lush trees, etc.
Then head to Huangguoshu Waterfall to marvel at the largest waterfall in Asia at 81 meters high, 101 meters wide. Besides the numerous odd-shaped stalactites, the Water Curtain Cave also enables you to appreciate the grand waterfall from backside, and even touch the cascading waterfall.
Overnight in Anshun
Huangguoshu Waterfall - Day 6: Anshun-GuiyangTianlong Tunpu
Before driving back to Guiyang, your guide will escort you to visit Tianlong Tunpu, an ancient village of old Han Chinese Tribe who are the descendants of the imperial Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) garrison troops. After over 600 years has passed, the old Han people still live in the fortress-like stone houses and maintain their customs and way of life from Ming Dynasty. You will get a chance to enjoy their dixi (aka ground opera), a local singing and dancing that originated from military opera.
After lunch, you will be dropped off at the airport or the railway station for departure. The magic 6-day Guizhou hiking tour ends here.
